hey there is tanku's dhaba in front of IIFT and its cheap...(I think someone has already mentioned this earlier), cheap and nice food. wen i attending my i/v at IIFT my senior told me they always dine at tanku's..She was going to throw me a party there.But the anxiety had thrashed my culinary instincts backseat. I hope to make for the loss in july

About the loan I am as much unaware as you are...... sorry guys can't help you here.
About the mess charges... they were 1650 per month this year.. lets see what comes up next year.. Damn.. we never thought of gurdwara

As soos as i know... ill let u all know n put all loan related queries to rest...

Hi,
Got my admn offer letter today.
I made it to IIFT kolkata.
The tuition fee details are the same as for IIFT Delhi, but the charges for hostel are more.

The letter says, "The inst will arrange residential facility for all students in leased accomodation in Salt lake or adjoining area and the annual rent is Rs.42,000/- per participant payable in advance.
Normally this accomodation is on double occupancy basis."

Also, the waitlist movement is explained as is already known to ppl.

In case, a person on kolkata list does not want to take up kolkata seat and still wants to be considered for iift delhi then a DD of 10k is to be sent to iift for that.

Is it compulsory to stay in the leased facility or we can arrange for our own accomodation?
What are the arrangements for food at iift kolkata currently? Is there a mess that is run at the leased facility?

Cant divulge all the details hence people interested can give me a ring...

Could not get your phone number as I am unable to access orkut while in office. Now, I enquired about the scholar loan from SBI branch in Karnal. They do offer the scholar loans but they said that IIFT is not in the list of elite colleges to whom they offer the discount. Also he said that S.P. Jain is there, so if somehow I can prove/convince them that IIFT is better than S.P. Jain then they can take up the case with corporate headquarters (simple strange and weird).

So, if according to the information that you gathered, if SBI offers the Scholar loan to IIFTians, then please tell the details about the branch and any other helpful information which I could show to SBI here in Karnal.

I went to SBI Main Branch today. And was directed to the PBB (personal banking branch) close to the main branch. The person was very co-operative and friendly. I asked him about the scholar loan scheme and he said that such a scheme is indeed available for educational loans. I narrated about the confusion about the scholar loan scheme. He clarified that the scholar loan will be eligible for availment at the place of permanent residence in the normal course. So friends, one can take the loan at his permanent address (like what I shall be doing) or it could even be availed at the place of study. Gosh, this clears the air. So I will be heading to Ahmedabad next week for the process.

Hey Aman,
I have PMed u my number and yes, IIFTians do get scholar loans. Atleast thats what my case is.
