well puys dne with all the formalities.....here i m the 1st one to post my experiences

well 1st a bit of backgroud

XAT percentile:96.93
Orissa Domicile
Class 10-91.66%
Class 12-85.80%
Btech 8.59(upto 7th Sem,NIT Rourkela)
No work Ex...
Well 1st about the GD
4th March .2:00 pm slot....
VENUE:XIMB,BBSR

We were 7 in the panel...3 freshers,4 people wth avg 2 yrs of work ex
The GD Topic:SHOULD MORE SEZ'S BE ALLOWED IN INDIA??

1 min to think.....8 mins for discussion and last 1 min for summarising......infact any no. of people can summarise it

Ours GD was gud...no fish market....every chipped in with some points....thgh at times we went sme off track....Personally i did enter the GD 2-3 times....made some points about quality being more imp than quantity.......time just flew......cldnt make out when everythng gt over

Overall,had a gud feeling after the gd.....but thr ends the honeymoon i guess....:idea:

Now comin to the PI part.....3 panels...1 lady ..2 males....same panel as thy were in GD

Avg interview time around 8-10 mins max...I was the last one in the slot...so had to wait a hell lot of time ....

Now comes the only experience of this season
Here I enter.....

Let me give the panels an acronym..
Lady proff1
Male proff2
2nd Male3


As sson as i enter
lemme make it clear....i m from metallurgy backgorund.....so the ques 4 u people will vary a lot...as i m interview was a lot acads heavy.....no general ques


p1:explain to a lay man metals and mineral
me:1st bouncer.....no ques related to "about me" or those general ques
gave the basic answer..wasnt difficult 4 me.....but she doesnt seemed to be convinced..pata nahn kyun....

p2:what is the steel used in rails...its qualities etc..???
me:blah blah

p2:advantages of all thse steels??
me:answered it bit roughly....nt quite convincn

p1:(nw she is back)what is fatigue?name most fatigue resistant and weak fatigue resistant material
me:sme wht tld smthn...dnt remember...

p1:name one aluminium company whch has its ads on tv?
me:told about hindalco's freshwrapp

p1:describe the ad?
me:(astonished)told somethin about a women and her son...son goin to school and wht nt.....bullshit...thn finally remembered....tld abt the 9 m length which freshwrapp gurantess as compared to their rivals...they seemed convinced...was a bit happy wth ths answer

p1:whts the new name of RRL,Bhubaneshwar???
me:i told till last year it was RRL(Regional Research Laboaratory),dn knw the new name

p1:u should know all this

p1:told me to go

tht's it.........p3 was jus noticin ..no ques as such

interview lasted hardly 6 mins....dn knw abt hw it was.......

meanwhile others were asked sme general que about budget..some maths concepts......some demand supply crap.....all goin top of the head...

the GD topic for other panel was:IS IT NECESSARY TO WEAR A TIE....or somrthn like tht//


the best part is tht its over.....waitin 4 response from other puys...

The GD topic for the 9 AM batch today was on the lines of...

What if women had a third eye ?

 People who've completed your GD/PI please do chip with with your experiences....It'll help the others get a idea of what to expect and it'll help you to assess who you've done. And dont be worried about the "advantage" that you might give the others...The panel knows very well about sites such as PG.com etc...and hence the rating will be fair.

The difference between what you want and what u get depends on only one factor......you.
