here goes my tiss gdpi experience..

reportin time-9:00 am

note-i had lost all my original docs-10,12 n grad mksheets along wth extra currics ceificates+tiss call letters..etc evrythng..on the way 2 tiss in train itself..but tiss ppl along wth a senior at tiss were very supportive-made me appear 4 gd despite all that

now-first of all,my name was not there in the list where we have to sign at reporting gate-they sed my roll no is wrong...how stupid..i never coined my own roll no-tiss ne jo dia tha wahi tha..lolz!!

then they cheked my result on their website-did not believe they had given me a call-checked it in front of me and when they wer satisfied,they said-ok-u r eligible...

till then my presentation abt hr was over-i was busy in these formalities thats y-a day b4 i had asked administrative deptt about my eligibility and they had no problems regarding the same!!!

my gd started at around 11 am-till then we all were asked 2 wait in room no 5-where tiss hr seniors were helping us out..met many pgites n orkutians there..

b4 entering the gd hall i was askd a very strange q-prove that u r manishree gupta-again told him my long story,about sir in the admin deptt who asked me 2 sit 4 the gdpi w/o worying..then i showed him my college id card-then he admitted me inside!!

once inside there were tables with chairs attached.we had 2 lift the attached table n then sit-and my roll no was placed on that table..if that is called a table....i lifted that table and my roll no along with the block wich was carrying it fell down on the floor!!and my panelists laughed!!i knew my marx wer deducted straitaway...

there wer 2 topiks we wer askd 2 select 1 acc 2 our preference..

there wer 2 panelists-both females-i forgot 2 mention..

our grp chose 2nd topik w/o hesitation-everybody was gung ho abt it..

i startd the gd...i dnt no wot hpnd 2 me..i hv nvr startd a gd in my life n there i startd the gd..all thanks 2 a ph call 4 days bak..now that person nose whose!!

thereaftr we had a very gud discussion-there wer many people in my grp who wer very intelligent n analytical i must say-mostly they wer delhiites...we had a very gud gd-the best gd of my life-nobody shouted or even tried 2 make it a fish mkt..though my inputs decreased progressively as wot all i wantd 2 say hd already bn sed-bt no regrets-i nvr expected it 2 b dat gud-had nitemares regardin tiss gd-rumours can ruin ur life..dnt blv in them....

then came pi-had 2 wait endlessly 4 that pi-i was very hungry by that time..n sleepy too...we were tkn 2 tiss 2nd campus 4 pi-bt it ws kool

there wer 2 panelists-both males-1 jolly natured n 1 very strict-tryin 2 intimid8 me..bt i was kool..calm..evrthn i m normally not!!!

askd abt mom dad delhi dad's turnover-told 5 crores!!!itni to bilkul ni hai waise!!!
then-what made u apply 2 tiss?i mean aftr a degree as a dr,then y hr??
wot do u no abt hr??tell me all u no abt it..wl listen 2 it patiently..ye mere interview panelist ne bola-i went on 4 abt 2-3 mins flat..

then wot r labour relations??i had mentioned dat in abt hr wala q

2 more questions abt this-r u sure?yehi hai?confident?final ans??ws confident

then tell me all abt trade unions..
then their objectives
then-wenever trade unions r very powerful,cmpnys hv bn destructed..n smthn else..i told them i donno abt this...

they wer w8n 4 this frm my side-k main kahin to bolu k i dnt no-as my pi was just b4 lunch break..we 3 wer very hungry-they even mentioned this 2me!!!
they sed-thank u manishree,u may go now...
n then we met while hvin lunch!!!
i just gobbled dwn wotevr i hd in my mouth n came bak-aise hi-ate full lunch at my hotel!!!
4 further queries i wl b available on my yahoo id-or orkut 4 dat matter

they also askd me abt at wot position wl i wrk in a cmpny wen i complete my hr course..i only new abt hr manager...to dat he raised his eyebrow!!!
then i just smiled ...
my pi ws over in 10 mins only
1 more thng..they askd dat if we gv u admission n cant provide u wth hostel facility,wot wl u do??i sed no probs sir,i wl serch 4 a room on rent or wl liv as a pg near tiss..
bt this can b fatal-my senior sed u shud hv sed-hostel is my top priority..
n pgites..calls r 3600..for 60 odd seats only..n tiss last yr took only 43!!they dnt reject ppl-rejections r on a mass level-they only select a few diamonds....

Guys nyone who is working as an SE and attended the interview?? cos i want to know if they are going to ask about trade unions and and labour laws to them as well... guys a quick reply is greatly appreciated as i have it tom .

im a software engineer with 2 years exp.
date: april 7th


Batch: 9:45am
actual time gd started: 11:45

TOPICS:
1)CREATIVE THINKING IS INCREASED BY GOOGLING.
2)SHOULD INDIA HAVE A DICTATOR

on concensus we decided to speak on the 2nd topic. points on various
aspects of cultural.socia,polital and economic impact of having a
dictator to rule india were dicussed.
all the topics for other groups were also general and easy.

Regrading PI: it stated at around 5pm for me.
panel: 3members( 2ladies and 1 male)
duration:15-20 mins

q1) tell abt urself.
q2) abt my work( told them work as a software developer in mainframes
for an insurance project)

they asked the name of the insurance company and they wanted to know
have i worked on any project for an indian insurance.
.3 asked the names of foreign life insurance compaies operating in
india

4. asked about the various depats in a software industry(

i began by telling them abt the types of project, software
development.testing, quality assurance, HR, sales marketing, buines
devleopment , infratructure, HR,RCM, business analysis. briefly
describing each one

5. whats the work of HR in my company? how do they recruit?

6. why hr after engg..

6.what are the problems faced by HR and y employees leave the company?
told then attrition and reason could more pay, higher education, no
motivation or promtion thogh the individual might be doing his best.

7.asked me on the TIBET ISSUE

8. ALSO ON KASHIMR ISSUE

9 US recession and how its impacting indian IT

10.PROBLEMS FACED BY INDIAN ECONOMY..

11.they also asked what i wud do if i dint get selected...
i told them i glad to take therir suggestions on areas of improvemant
and try to do so next time

12. asked on liberalisation and its impact on indain economy...

after answering all these qs they asked me are u happy now. well told
them that u guys asked told me my interview was not good.. so how can
i be happy.for that they started smiling
well i answered all the above questions to the best of my knowledge
and ability .but as everyone knows 60 seats and 3000 ppl , so competition is very
severe .

anyways i wish everybody best of luck.

hey guys

had my gd-pi on 9th.the gd topics given were:
1.Indian Youth today value money more than humna values.
2.indai is poor because of poor mentality


PI was a 10-15 min affair.i have a work ex of 2.5 yrs in an IT induatry hence most of my questions were work related like:
1.wat do i work on?wat's my designation?
2.why frm software to HR?
3.Wat does the HR in my company do to make employees happy?
4.whay tiss?
5.who will fund my education?
6.how is the education system in my state?
7.hobbies and interests.

tht was all.all teh best ppl )

i had my interview for DM on 10th i was the first to go ....

they asked me alot of acads ... my subject in b.a. being english hence from literature... then they asked what u read ? becoz i had written so in my application essay... then they asked me about animal rights since i work for PFA .... overall it was a very pleasnt experience .... they never even touched on any personal issues that had been asked in the form i had been scared that they might ... but they didnt .. so people dont worry they will never touch on personal issues ... yeah they also asked DM and HR ?? what is the connection so i gave them an honest answer that i wanted dm and my parents wanted hr hence applied for both ... they just smiled ....

over all a very pleasant experience ... people the panel does not bite ... they are very very pleasant ... so pls be cool before interview ...

i called tiss they said wont declare before 10th of may due to OBC quota.there is a Mr.Ramasubramanian in the academic section extension no.261 who is incharge of everything ....he told me.
