also the list now has to factioned into a new category of OBC candidates who have to be first seperated from general candidates, and then a re-ranking has to be made, (creamy layer eleiminated and placed in general if they fit the marks). its a difficult proces, so tiss is taking time. come on people, its the best institute in the country, they wont play with peoples futures by placing a redundant result which can be challenged in a court of law.
Best of luck to all of you.
hi,
the documents required normally to prove the OBC status are the caste certificate and the non-creamy layer certificate issued by the revenue authorities not below the rank of tahsildar.tiss might be considering to admit obc candidates over and above the 60 seats.first they have to decide what percent of increase are they going to make.it is a separate list.
all those students, belonging to OBC,who scored marks above the cut off fixed for the general merit will have to be put in the general merit list itself.for the additional seats for the obc the cut off marks have to be lowered and a fresh list prepared.this is the way the reservation rules are applied.tiss might have their own mode of arriving at the final list.let us all hope that the final list will come out on 15th itself.
pg's any idea how many of the total 2800 called for gdpi belong to OBC(non-creamy layer) quota ..... just hoping there aren't many so as seats left vacant are given to open catagory

well my gdpi was on 11th...had a lot of time to kill in between so checked out each and every detail on the notice board...there were 247 candidates in all slated for 11th and surprisingly none of them belonged to any reserved category

hi,
the situation might have arose due to two reasons. one the gd/pi for the sc/st aspirants might have been fixed together.two,as there was no reservation for obc at that stage, those belonging to obc might also have been classified under general.my experience was also on similar lines.
