hai,
the most disturbing part of the delay in finalising the select list is the way in which tiss has handled the issue. they should have made an official announcement on the delay and could have also come up with tentative dates for the results.if premier institutes handle matters so callously and show scant respect to the candidates how can they mould future managers and show to the world that india has the best people around.after all it is india and here we can expect only this much.expecting things to happen the way it should seems to be too much and impractical.:sly:

hi,
thank u for the clarification.my emphasis was not on the salutation but what was given below it.i have experienced big gaps between preaching and practicing in almost all the places where i interacted.tiss has now come up with probable dates for the results.let us hope they will not go for further revision.

i dont think its the fault of tiss. rather its the govt who should have been more prepared to tackle the issue when it so forcefully wanted to implement quota this year itself. shows how unprepared our govt people are.

The results are coming on 15th may.The seats are bound to go over 70 to accomodate OBC candidates any 1 in open will be shifted to that quota and open list will move up.
But when are IIMs results coming out if the list is before 15th may its good as people will leave before hand.

However I find its fees to be a little on the higher side (9.5 lacs inclusive of
tuition, hostel, mess n laptop), moreover when compared to an avg. salary of 8 lacs p.a.
I am right now contemplating as to whether I should go for it or try again next year for all
the top institutes. Interest in a particular field has never been an issue for me.
So i am basically researching on the present fee structure of the various top b schools and
what the fee scenario would be in the top colleges next year(in the event of almost all
colleges increasing their fees including the IIMs). Also the reservations will make things
much more difficult next year.
So all my friend puys please pm me about the approx. overall expenses (try including hostel
n mess charges) and avg. packages of any college you personally rate equal to or above MICA.
(MDI..XLRI.. SP Jain.. JBIMS... NITIE.. TISS.. NMIMS... FMS... IITS.. IMT.. IIFT..etc) You
must be definitely knowing about the colleges u or ur friends must have converted.
Thanks in advance....

IITs are the best places from the return on inverstemet (ROI) point of view. Expenditure of 2-3 lac and avg salary of 11-14 lac.

As is mentioned on their official site, the results are deferred till May 15th, we cannot be pretty sure if it will be declared on 15th. I called them up, and was disappointed with the response that the result will be declared AFTER May 15th If this uncetainity persists, how safe is it for us to wait and put our resignation forward only once the result is out. Every company asks for atleast a month notice!! So, does any one have a clue what shall be the date of the commencement of the classes? Will it still remain June 23rd???:(

hi,
the clever selection of words by tiss is the key.the announcement at the tiss site says that the declaration of the results have been postponed till 15th.that can be interpreted as declaration after 15th!!!tiss continues to be least transparent with respect to providing the scores, cut off marks etc.we can't but wait till 15th and see what they are coming out with.the problems with resignation can be sorted out only after the results.otherwise one should be sure to convert the call.

well, i have been following tiss quite regulary due to a few calls of my friends. From what i gathered from one of the seniors there is that the major contention is due to OBC cramy layer classification. i.e. what all documents to get and from whom? so the candidates have been given adequate time to get the documents.
also the list now has to factioned into a new category of OBC candidates who have to be first seperated from general candidates, and then a re-ranking has to be made, (creamy layer eleiminated and placed in general if they fit the marks). its a difficult proces, so tiss is taking time. come on people, its the best institute in the country, they wont play with peoples futures by placing a redundant result which can be challenged in a court of law.
Best of luck to all of you.
