Keep it simple: You cannot remember each and everything about the economy, trying to do so will make you feel overwhelmed and under prepared. Always pick an issue and choose the 3 most important aspects of that issue and prepare that. For example suppose you are reading about the Growth in Indian aviation sector. Pick issues such as (a) The need for mergers (2) Allowing domestic airways to fly international routes (3) Need for upgradation of airport facilities. Sticking to just 3 issues gives focus and confidence2) Become a peacemaker: Try to come up with possible solutions. If you go to the Group Discussion and Personal Interview and the topic was "Infrastructure in Mumbai" and all you did was create a fish market just like the mumbai infrastructure....guess what you are out

3) The 2 minute approach: You are not there to read an essay, no one will give you that much time. Whatever points you have prepared - time them to finish in 2 minutes or less with all the important points well said in time.

All the best guys "Hope that the best will make it"

Re: TISS HRM 2008-10 Call Getters, GD/PI discussion and experiences - 01-04-2008, 09:31 PM

Hey folks.. had my gd/pi process today.. n im glad dat im over with the last n final call of my season..!! How did i do.. i cant evaluate as d competition was really tough.. hope my experience would help u all..!

Name: Mridul Saboo
Batch: 1st April 9.45 AM
GD started: 11 AM
GD topics:
1. Is poor mentality making India poor? (Very general social topic)
2. SEZ is the best policy for indian economy ? ( A little specific economic topic)

Same topic to ppl belonging in one time slot.. Other topic of the day were:
Globalistion or India Vs China
Global warming is human induced or Indian economy is shock proof
Unhealthy mind or unhealthy body or FDI in the retail sector of india

My grp chose the social topic... and we had a peaceful though a little vague discussion...

PI: Over by 3pm (Does not depend on ur morning slot timing)
Questions asked :
Y hr?
Y engineering to HR?
What does an HR manager do?
What motivated me to apply the course?
Then some questions regarding solely my family business...
Two good and bad things about Rajasthan (Im marwari..so)
Lot of emphasis on technical terms related to HR..
I had studied OB in collg..so little abt dat..

Very peaceful interview..very stress free but then it totally depends upon the panel..

if u folks wanna ask me nythin more..ill b happy to oblige..!!

Tc..

P.S: plz dont worry about GD... topics are very general n easy... u really dont need to worry at all.. !!

How many people in a GD?

Duration of GD?

Time to prepare/jot down points?

Duration of PI? Did they ask for folder/CV?

9-10 ppl in a gd.

duration 25min. U have 2 decide the topic amngnst urself and discuss it in the same time.

Yes time is there to jot down points.

Avg time for a pi: 10min. Wont look at folder/cv as they already have our DAF
