First of all congratulations to all the Puys who have recieved a call.
Now its time to shift gears and put our pedals to full throttle.

Yeah i got a call... was a mixed day for me as i got selected for TISS and rejected by FMS.

My Brief profile

10th : 87%

12th : 78%

BE (Mech) : 68%

Loads of extracurricular activities.... but still not sure whether good, bad or awesome.

working in an IT company for the last 1year and 6 months... so 18 months of work ex.

just one query thoug if anybody can solve it... what are the tentative dates for the GD/PI gonna be?

thanks
Kaustav

Everyone is saying that a large number of calls have been given out for the TISS GD/PI and almost everyone who gave the test and got a score of above 43 has been shortlisted .

But I think this could be pure speculation on our part and nothing else .

The reasons being :

1) TISS has 60 seats for their flagship HRM & LR progamme - taking a 1:10 ratio at the max , they will give around 600 calls for the GD/PI for this programme . I don't think it is feasible for them to call more than 1000 people at all for 60 seats .

2) I just called up IMS and the guy there has got information that the total calls for HRM given out by TISS this year comes to 511 (he was very precise when he said 511)

3) Most of the people who got calls are PG users too , so when they post we have a call , it seems like a lot of calls have been given which is not true . The polls might not even show a true picture .

4) Wait for the official information from TISS regarding this . perhaps seniors can comment on number of calls - they might have an idea .

Last but not the least , it hardly matters now how many people have calls , we should give it our best shot and prepare for the next hurdle of GD/PI earnestly

All the best !!

Also the TISS paper was fairly simple , so many people must have cleared the written stage resulting in slightly more calls this year .

Hi,

My frend who is in tiss 2006-08 batch informed me that, in their batch for 42 seats they had called 768 students for the 2nd round..............
going by this we cant eliminate the possibility of some 1000 odd getting called...
but its equally possible that they might reduce the numbers this time.....
all speculation going by previous year experience.......

Thanx dude u put my thoughts into words..
So Puys, lets not crib anymore for the number of ppl getting calls and lets change the discussion towards discussing abt GD topics and lets pour in all the available information abt tat topic..
Sample topics : :2gunfire:

1). Solar Energy, Oil Energy or Nuclear Energy: which one of them viable for world's future demand?
2). Should India and Pakistan have people to peope contacts?

Last year's topics ofcourse..
Suggest some other topics or we ll start with it?
Guys lets get together and use this opportunity to discuss things out..

Wot say Puys??

Chandhu..
Hope 4 d best, Prepare 4 d worst

HI PUYS,

CONGRATS TO ALL THOSE WHO CLEARED THE TISS EXAM.

Now,we should start wth the GD / PI PROCESS PREPARATIONS.

Please give in your inputs / expriences / tips for the GD / PI for TISS and TISS (HRM&LR).

Also, please keep pouring in your thoughts about TISS gd / pi prepa.

The site is working fine.Morover, all those selected would be sent a letter from TISS having the needed details.

Request you all, to kindly not cut, copy, paste your results and waste the thread.

Lets start with the second phase....prep.

I guess, the number of people SELECTED / called for GD/PI THIS TIME IS REALLY HIGH..........most are selected

so,I bet GD/PI WOULD BE TOUGH ,FOR SURE....

Bangalore Baithak... - 21-02-2008, 03:40 PM

to use the 'numbers' to our advantage - we can prep' better.
apart from the online stuff/pdf/links etc can there be a meet? for the bangalore brigade....??
just a suggestion - this sunday, 24th Feb, can we meet up?
n for the location.... hmmmm.... the Barista in Koramangla, near Forum (the road behind Jyoti Nivas Coll); time 4:00 - 4:30 pm
well... just a suggestion for the spot n time - sunday is better coz saturday stays volatile with corporate commitments
so post on... hope we can gather momentum...
