Actually i stay a bit far from the IBS Mumbi campus, so have no idea about ps's near the campus.

Would suggest you to get in touch with other Puys who are planning to join IBS Mumbai and are from out of mumbai.....

Hi All,

I visited IBS Mumbai Powai campus today, and also met a friend studying in the first year at IBS Mumbai, posting some of the information collected:

1. New Campus: As we all know, IBS Mumbai is shifting to brand new campus, at Powai (Near IIT Mumbai). Puys trust me, they will atleast take 3 months time in order to complete all the construction and interiors work. Currently the condition is really really BAD, with nothing in place. I hope it would be done when we start off with our main course from June 01, 2008. Its G+2 Floors.

2. Laptops: Laptops would be provided in last week of June 08, thats after 20-25 days from the start of course. Everybody has to take a laptop, they don't have any rule wherein if a person doesn't want laptop can get the laptop money refunded. Last year everybody was given HP NX7300 and is quiet good in terms of performance. However as per the officials, we wont be given the same one, a better & latest model will be given to us. Also it would be difficult to use ones own laptop, as the laptop provided by IBS would have all preloaded applications like SAP.......etc. The new campus will be WI-FI enabled.

3. Dean - Y K Bhushan: Dean of the Mumbai IBS Mr. Y K Bhushan is said to be the pillar of the IBS Mumbai branch. He has a very good rapport with the management of various good organizations.

4. Accommodation: I am sorry Puys, i missed out on inquiring about that. As I stay in Mumbai itself, accommodation is not required, hence it did not strike me.

5. Placements: Its been known that the avg placement for the last batch is definetly 5.5L+. Also its been expected that the placements are expected to improve a lot for every batch henceforth, as IBS will own a very very good campus, also the locality has changed. Lokhandwala Complex, where our new campus is, is one of the best planned complexes in Mumbai. Its said to be a posh area. UBS is expected to visit for final recruitment for batch 07-09 (our seniors).

6. Scholarships: Scholarships are being provided as per the rules given in the booklet and the are no further conditions to it. Just fulfill the conditions provided and u get the scholarship which you are eligible for.

7. Summer Placements: Even summer placements are expected to improve. Currently companies like JP Morgan , Mahindra & Mahindra are visiting, with packages offered in the range of 8k-10k per months.

8. Hang out: Puys, Hiranandani Complex is a good place to hang out. It has everything from KFC to Pizza Hut to Mc Donalds. It also has a CAR Riding track(nearby to our campus)...its amazing guys.

9. Batch Size: As per my friend studying in there in 1st year, their current batch size is of just 390 !!!!!. Our batch size would be definetly more that that...any idea on the exact number.....please post it.

Its been a good experience as whole. The feedback from my friend studying there was also positive. Hence definetly looking forward to it........

We hav to send one DD of 80k or two DD one of 75k and one of 5k?

I think they will be ok with a single DD, as they have just given its bifurcation as REG Fees 5000 + PREP classes Fees 75000.

Also in the final offer letter, they have written as under:

" The demand draft for Rs.80,000 (Rs.5,000 for................ and Rs 75,000 for......). drawn in favour of "IUCF A/c IBS"............."

Hence the DD has to be of Rs. 80,000, they have just specified what they are charging for.

Hi.Thanks for the info but had some more queries.
1)Whats the procedure after sending the DD like how can one be confirmed about its acceptance?
2)whats the next step like will they inform about the accomodation etc or do we need to initiate it?

Hey,

1) Actually, even i don't have any idea about the confirmation on acceptance of the DD. Am gonna send it next week.

2) However after the DD is cleared, Admissions office (HYD) will send a communication to IBS mumbai office about the confirmation of admission of the candidate for the batch 08-10. Post which IBS mumbai will send a welcome letter to all the admitted candidates. After that all the candidate has to be in touch with its respective campus (mum in our case) and no longer need to contact HYD office. All the queries will be answered by the Mum campus officials.
