i would suggest you may personally visit to both the college... meet student... check fees and than take decision based on placement, fees, etc... on your own.

I’ll say you don’t join any of the IBS centre if possible even if it is Hyderabad. I am damn serious about it.
I’ll say you join IBS [any centre] only when you desperately want to finish your MBA this year without giving much thought about your career and the quality of education & you finally want a mere job in this corporate. Otherwise there could not be any reason to pursue MBA from IBS.

Now if you need it desperately then – IBS ranking goes like this-
Hyderabad
Mumbai
Gurgaon
Kolkata etc

Again in IBS centers, IBS-Hyd is little good. Rests are good only on paper.
Regarding Mumbai – [On the scale of 5]
Infra- 3 & ½ [IBSM shifted to new campus which is in underconstruction n 'll take another 01 year]
Faculty - <2
Library – 3 & ½
Quality of placement – 1 & ½
Quality of students [peer group] – 2
Average Package – 3.75 to 4.0 Lc [Not more than this]
Placement – Not 100% (only 85%) till today [but they are showing it in news papers- so you can understand the things]

IBS- Hyderabad is also more or less same as Mumbai but has little advantage of being IBS HEADQUARTER. But again beware.

One very personal suggestion I want to give you- while pursuing your MBA you look forward for few following things-
1. Quality of Peer Group
2. Infra
3. Faculty
4. Industry Interactions [Here in IBS it is ZERO]
5. Average Package
6. Placement
7. Quality of placement – Very Important [Profile and Sectors of your interest- and what kind of efforts are being put by the college to place each individual in the company, sector, industry of his/her choice- Here in IBS it is hopeless- College will put you anywhere without giving a second thought about your interest- you are just a substance for them- they are emotionless- IBS simply wants to place you somewhere so that they can show their 100% placement result in news papers and in this way they can attract students for their next batch]

Its npt worth spending 10.0 lc for such place. Now, you decide yourself, whether you want to join. Let me know if you need anything else. You can call me on my cell no.

Wish you good luck..!!
This is really true about every IBS Centres...

I was selected in one of the IBS centre... I completed one year and then dropped bcoz they didnt gave me the subjects of my choice...and it was a horrible experience over there...

here is my personal experience of IBS

Teachers were locals who dont even know the pattern of examination at ICFAI...

Business Statistics faculty confessed in class that he had never studied the subject he was teaching at IBS...

Finance teacher was never sure whether he explained a concept rightly or not...so he used to ask students whether he was right or wrong...and the class was finished with the verdict of students...
if student said that he was right ..he used to say "Yes yes , I think you are right"... and if a student said that he was wrong in his approach..the Same reply comes from the teacher...

and same was the case with managerial economics...
the teacher finished the whole course in 8 days....no matter whether u get the concept or not..they dont give a damn...

the goal was that .... withing 40 minutes and whole chapter should be completed...and never to be discussed again...

there were test every other day and mark it as continual evaluations...
and above that they wont give a time for self study or these test...
as we were supposed to visit the paan-shops and truck drivers for absurd marketing surveys on beedis and trucks respectively..the result was that out of 20 marks, the highest that would reach in a class of 40 were 2.5 - 5.5 ...

Some of the fellow students can't even write their names in english...and dont even know the spelling of 'Administration' (and they were pursuing MBA)
i always wondered how they got admission in MBA...

the funniest part was that the placement cell was headed by a girl who was an ex R.J. in FM...can u believe it ?? its true...

So it was a hell out there with lots of monsters and beast unleashed to terrorize students...and their parents for money...

I was fortunate that i took the decision of dropping out from a place...

after sometime ....I came to know that the the max salary offered at that centre was 96k p.a....

...

out of 40 students they provided placements to only 7 students ...
rest of them are still searching for Jobs...
the quality of placement of those 7 students is almost crap...some are selling Insurance and others are counter salesman at a shop in a mall...with a salary of Rs. 9500 p.m. ..other is selling medicines at drug stores...and one of them is at vodafone call centre as Customer care executive...

....

so dont ever think of joining any IBS... they are the biggest fraud in the education industry....u will end up spending 10 lac for nothing...
....

Beware of IBS...

Re: IBS - MUMBAI - Batch 2008 -2010 - 05-11-2009, 03:45 AM

i am inter CA pass and currently working with Asit C Mehta intermedieries Ltd since 1 year.I am planning to give IBSAT 09.Iwill also give CAT, 09,NMAT,SNAP,XAT,CET.Can anyone tell me whether IBS, Mumbai is UGC approved.I came to know that Madras court has filed a case against ICFAI to illegaly run its campuses all over India.A person pursuing full time MBA course in Mumbai cannot be awarded a degree from Dehradun. Also people say it is not worth to do MBA from IBS and keep IBS,Mumbai as the last option like XLRI,JBIMS,NMIMS,SIBM,Welingkar,Somaiyya,Dalmia,IB S Mumbai. .What is the average pay at IBS, Mumbai for finance professionals and how is the faculty? Please throw some light on this and let me know.
