Hey puys...PG Connect still does not list IITK. So, until IITK is included, why dont we start trying to know puys from our slot? I will start...my GD/PI is scheduled for 23rd Feb and I will be coming from Mumbai. Is there anyone else in the same slot? Or travelling to Kanpur from Mumbai on 22nd?

Yup.. thats the train im referrin to... Have to get the call letter to find out my slots on the 24th.. i wish it was at noon...
Btw, is there any other train to kanpur frm chennai or coimbatore?? Or should i go to delhi or lucknow and get connectin trains from there??

please suggest me best means of transportation from bangalore to kanpur.and total hours of journey.

Hi..
Southerns will have a little problem in reaching Kanpur as the connectivity is not great.
However, we have lot of trains from South to reach Jhansi. Kanpur is 6 hrs away by road & 4 hrs by a superfast exp from Jhansi.
You haven't specified ur exact date of GD/PI. But, there is a direct train from Yashwantpur to Kanpur on every Thursday (Feb 21st) . You'll reach on Saturday (23 rd) morning by 8 AM. Never go by Indianrail timings as the train is usually late by 2 hrs. If ur GD is on 23rd afternnon or 24th etc, u can book for this train.
Else, take a fast train to Jhansi/Delhi & catch a connecting train. You need not go to Lucknow as Kanpur comes before Lucknow and all the trains stop @ Kanpur. It is like Vijayawada station.
