Hi seniors,
i wanted to know that does IIT kanpur fill all its seat.. i mean like other colleges do they keep moving the waiting list till the last seat is filled or they have some set parameters that after some limit they dont move the list even though the seat may go vacant.
For according to the new law which is introduced a college has to move the waiting list till all the seats are filled..

Hi,
I have no idea about the new law and if it is the case, then IIT K authorities must have the information about it. We have discussed here a lot about this issue. Every time the discussion ends with more uncertainties about this year's trend. And the reason being that we have only limited information and it is the faculty who decides, make and implement policies and as expected it change with each passing year. At the time of our selection we also had a long discussion on this issue, but ultimately nothing could be predicted with certainty.

So, let us wait and watch and this year's uncertainty will also settle with time. And that time does not seem to far away.

I read it on Times of India that this time we can opt out of a college before the session starts and the college will move the waiting list as the students vaccant the seat....
