ICFAI Distance Learning Program..any idea ? - 07-04-2004, 05:26 PM

Can somebody give me any info on the ICFAI Distance Learning Program.

I am planning to go for Diploma in Business Finance (1 year) and i have the following queries:

1. Is it very grilling ? Is few hours of study sufficient to pass it By few i really mean few

2. How good is it ?

I thought that it will definitely add some value as anyway will be appearing for CAT next year....

Your views please....

Hi! Shuki
1.If you are from finance background you wouldn't find it 'grilling'.

2. well if you do the MS degree rather than diploma definietely it would be better.

Jharna i am not from finance background and that is the reason i am planning to take that diploma course as i am interested in the finance field.

I do agree that MS will be better but at present i am just planning to utilze my 1 year because the next year i am planning to crack CAT (very optimistic but no harm in it).

By the way are u aware of any other Distance Learning Programs in Finance...

I heard that a program called Bachelor in Business Finance offered by Indian Institute of Finance is good...

Also some suggested that why not go for ICWA....

Few told me that there is a course offered by Stock Exchange of India purely dealing with stocks but i haven't explored that......

Let the suggestions flow

For MBA, you can consider ICFAI University because:
* ICFAI gives MBA degree not PGDBA

* It's teaching methodology is case study based same as that of Harvard Business School and IIMs.

* It is associated with many internatinal bodies like ECCH(European Case Clearing House), CIIA(Certified International Investment Analyst) and many more.

* It has seperate research department to keep itself abreast of corporate world.

* It has its own book publishing department to update course content quickly.

* It not only takes care of your Managerial aspects but also develops your personality by teaching you Business etiquettes, Communication skills, Business Letter writing etc.

* It sends you monthly Managerial Magazine to update you with current Business world.

* It has 130+ examination centers.

* It gives specialization in 9 subjects.

* It guarentees job of Minimum 21,000/ per month.
For further details u can surf at http://www.icfai.org/icpe/
Since I have myself done MBA from ICFAI Bangalore, I can give you better ins & outs of the program atleast in Bangalore. I have got the soft copy of the prospectus also in case you want one.

With best regards
