hello,

i m not a seniors but will try answer some of ur questions.....
1.The corses are at the most 2 years old.....I am interested in acturry so i know tht its 2 years old.....that is its 1st palcements are already done....banking i guess but i m not sure in one year old....
2.i can not comment on chances....but your best bet (like mine) is to assume that the popele who are ahead of u in ranking have got better calls or are freshers.....u shld have littile advantage caz of ur 8 months of experience....
3.the marks split is a contravercial issue....i dont think that there can be such low weightage for GD & PI.....and dont worry about the split.....just prepare well for the GD /PI.....
4.6 months of academic industrial training i dont think will be counted.....i have read somewhere that its the after graduation work-ex that is counted....also in many of the B-school they even dont consider the articleship of CA/CS as work ex....
5.to see the syllabus of service management....have a look at the prospectus.....u will come to know the subjects....hers is the link for service management cirriculam......NMIMS - Full Time MBA (Services Management) - Curriculum

Quoting from NMIMS Site

"The basis of ranking and final selection of successful candidates is based on the performance in NMAT, GD / PI & other selection process as well as work experience including academic performance etc. "

With regard to work Exp during graduation, Many institutes do not entertain part time work experience. Hope it answers your query.

All the Best

As you have mentioned that Your form has reached the isntitue before the deadline you need not worry much. I think theywould not send out acknowledgments to every one. The whole process of capturing the deatils from the form is manual so will take more than usual time so relax and prepare for GD/PI.

Re: Nmat Sectoral 2008 - 22-02-2008, 09:09 PM

Hi Coolanky,

1. Cannot comment on the GD Topics. But be updated with recent events and read a lot.

2. Global Business in colleges like IIFT and SIIB has been giving excellent placements. Most of the companies would be interested in picking people for export and import related job. As more Indian companies go global, placements are bound to improve. Also considering the stature of NMIMS in core MBA, companies will be soon pouring in for Sectoral MBA grads as well so you would soon see sectoral MBA competing with CORE MBA in placement statistics.

3. Nobody has recieved the acknowledgment mail. So wait for 26th when you can download your GD/PI call letters.

All the Best.

@ everybody

Please go thru the posts before and then put up a question...... We guys a bit busy nowadays all classes and competitions so excuse us for delay in replies...

Placement stats

all i have to say is the stats are decent .... 7.5+ is the average for Global and services courses but as i have already mentioned there are a lot of fators involved in the CTC so beware of the absolute values

@Niru
Banking Global same gd pi , same group u can apply to global

@studtatrang

Why should u take sides ... dont compare them ... put in positives of both ....
Dont worry keep it precise, honest and as somebody said diplomatic..........

@Amber

Dude got ur case checked out I am afraid u've got those marks, they said they got the paper rechecked.... Thats all i could do ask the counselor who said she had already checked ur case....... For further clarification pls contact the col....

@aspire_high

Gobal , services, retail, acturial 2 years old i.e u'll be the third batch...
Cap mkts... 3years
banking 1year..

Dont ask me the chances , if no weightage is given in the prospectus then u'll be told at the time of the interview it may not be 150 10 10 10 breakup ........ as in core or it may be i am not sure thats fr the col to decide ...

no only ur workex certi months ... not the academic industrial training....

Yes u can go into IT Mgmt thru services.....

Please all of u read the previous messages before askin further ques
