hi guys,
i think IIMs result mit have an
INDIRECT impact on admissions,
consider this, 7 IIMs = 1500 seats
that means 1500 students have taken seats in colleges lik FMS,IITS,MDI,XLRI,ETC..
so now when cancellations occur, there will be a cascading effect lik this:
step 1: ppl will cancel admissions in XLRI,FMS to take admission in IIMs,
step 2: ppl will cancel admissions in MDI,NITIE,XIMB to take admission in XLRI,FMS,
step 3: ppl will cancel admissions in IMT,NMIMS core to take admission in MDI,NITIE,XIMB,
step 4: ppl will cancel admissions in GIM,SCMHRD to take admission in SIBM,IMT,NMIMS core.
and this effect will keep on goin till bottom of pyramid.
so,when ppl will cancel NMIMS sectoral admission for vacant seats in better colleges, there mit be chances for other candidates...
but, a few points have to be noted here before thinkin abt cancellations that
1)some colleges have refused to refund after classes have started lik SCMHRD whose classes started on 11 april.
2)some colleges lik MICA,MDI will start soon before actual cancellations could take place because of mismatch between dates of various colleges to declare waitlist confirmations
3)the above logic doesnt try to rank any of the colleges....
any comments?
