I agree to most of your points...but its one of the most recognized institutes...just the mention of it in the resume can create wonders in your career growth...if you get thru, nothing like it...so, no harm in trying :-)

Even I wanted to apply for NMIMS but could not as only people who graduated in 2005 or earlier are eligible. I completed mine in 2006.

Even though I am a gujju , I do not approve of the reservations like those in NM

well ruchika at the end of the day it's ur personality that matters and ur competency..i hv seen non-mbas who r gr8 managers..seen people doing their MBA from RIZWI and end up getting humungous paycheck every month..at the end of the day it comes down to ur own self.

Yes, you are right...but good schools enhance your competencies...obviously, attitude matters too...so, an ideal scenario is when you have a combination of good business school+good attitude+your personality (as you stated) Do you agree?

I feel like I am participating in an online Group Discussion

Re: Welingkar's part time MBA 2008-2011 - 19-01-2008, 05:30 AM

Welingkar and JBIMS are no way inferior to NMIMS..a student can learn the same in welingkar or JB what they can in NMIMS...in fact institutes like Welingkar with their state of the art facility really provide you a gr8 support if you got the willingness to learn. It isn't that if you get an MBA degree from NMIMS, you get 10 lakh package and if you get an MBA degree from welingkar or MET or JB, you get 5 lakh package. That statement would be really gross!

I have come across NMIMS folks getting rejected in interview and a fella with a correspondence MBA from ICFAI selected for the same job. At the end of the day, all that matters is your competency. I just told you from a live experience. If an interviewer just looks at the institute of graduation and gives more points to the interviewee than the candidate for sure gonna end up being a hiring defect..

well i really don't wanna be a part of any group discussion here, all that matters here is to highlight each institute and their unique points rather than letting other down. so all the best for ur admissions. hope u get what u want..

I never said that JBIMS or Welingkar is inferior...In fact, JBIMS is better than NMIMS in terms of ranks, selection criteria, etc. I am just putting forward my opinion, not that i am tryin to change yours or for that matter anyone elses. Everyone has their own viewpoint and that is what we are trying to present here.

This tread started at a very freindly note but it seems to be getting serious.

Yes, Admission forms would be issued in Feb end or March and the exam would be in March end or early April with GDPI wrapping off by that time...

my friend did call MET and they said they do not have any fixed date, but it's probably gonna b held in march

All the best everyone
