hey puys... does anybody have an idea as to wheather any of the IIT's gives weightage to JMET scores in the final selection process or is it just for shortlisting the candidates??

Yes, they do give weight age to the JMET score. Exact weight age is never disclosed by the IITs. However, i would suggest you to concentrate on the GD/PI as all the stages in selection are equally imporatant and hence, prepare well.

marks: 62 AIR: 165 good rank but in section 1 i hav scored 8.25 marks. would it be a prob in iitd and iitb.

Dont had a good JMET exam. Scored only 50.5 and AIR is 1649

Can you please suggest which institute I can target?

JMET details

Section 1: 13.25
section 2: 17.75
Section 3: 8.25
Section 4: 11.25
total: 50.5
AIR: 1649 ( only one good thing is that I have cleared all cutoffs it seems. Because I got a message that I have cleared the exam)

You can try for IIT R, Kanpur.And an outside chance at IIT M, kgp and IISC.But do get it confirmed on there college threads.All the best.

Sorry!! I for got to provide one info: I got around 3.5 years of work experience as s/w engineer

can anyone tell how and when to apply for any of the IITs
and till which rank can we expect a call from respective IITs.

Hi

I have got 2190 rank in the JMET exam and I have been working with Cisco for past 1.5 years (This is also the total work experience I have ). My toal score was 48.5 in JMET and probably I have cleared all the cutoffs because I have been marked as qualified.

Could you please suggest me , which insitute should I apply?
