Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) Jais Rae Bareli, U.P. has been set up as an
Autonomous Institution under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of
India. RGIPT is promoted by six leading oil PSUs in India (ONGC, IOCL, OIL, GAIL, BPCL and
HPCL), in association with Oil Industrial Development Board (OIDB) is under active consideration of
Parliament for declaration as “
Institute of National Importance”. RGIPT is positioned as a world
class institute with an object to cater to the growing demand of professionals for hydrocarbon chain
globally and particularly in India. RGIPT will start maiden academic courses (a) B.Tech in Petroleum
Production and Reservoir (b) B.Tech in Petroleum Refining (c) MBA in Petroleum Management. In
the subsequent year RGIPT will offer more undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and post doctoral
programs in the complete spectrum of hydrocarbon value chain.
RGIPT announces the admission for its maiden Two Year MBA programme commencing from the
academic year 2008-2009. The programme shall be offered from rented premises at NCR in the first
year and subsequently from Rae Bareli, U.P.
Candidates interested in joining the above programme should appear in JMET 2008 examination as
RGIPT would be admitting candidates from the merit list of JMET 2008 qualified candidates.
Programme : Master of Business Management (MBA) with focus on Petroleum
Management.
Eligibility: The candidates having the following qualifications are eligible to apply for the MBA
programme
i) Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy
(Minimum 4 Years after 10+2)
ii) Master’s degree in any branch of Physical/Chemical/Mathematical Sciences like Physics,
Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Application, Electronic Science,
Environmental Science, Geo Sciences, Operational Research, Computational Information
Science, Agriculture or Master’s Degree in Commerce/Economics/Psychology.
Those appearing in the final year examination may also apply. However, the candidates must finish
their qualifying examination before the last date of registration i.e. 31st July, 2008 (exact date to be
notified in admission letter) Minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or 6.75
CGPA on a 10 scale or equivalent in the above mentioned degree programmes are essential for
admission. There is a relaxation of 5% in marks or equivalent in CGPA for SC/ST candidates and as
per Institute norms for PD category. Those having applied to RGIPT MBA program on qualifying the
JMET 2008 will be short listed and then invited for a group discussion and interview.
