Hi Guys..Actually I wanted to broke this topic but u rightly picked it up !!!
I tell you what is the scenario...coz my brother he also got into these prestigous college thru these empty seats you are talking of..'
Actually you guys agree that these institute do not favour reservation no matter how we potray....so to keep up their standard...they set up a criteria...and who so ever falls into that under the reservation cateogry is given....If only few fulfil it ,they leave the seat vacant.But as per the rule of Government...SC/ST seats cannot be filled by an open cateogry person.
So they have a procedure of "Preparatory Course"...IIM A and IIT K.Those seats are filled by next yr ppl who are "on the margin" case..though they have to attend a few classes b4 the commencement of the actual classes and have to clear an internal exam too.
You have to be really lucky to get those vacant seat....which they wud easily keep vacant if their standard are not met.
They have criteria that if the DI score is good or there is low in Vocab/communication prob.
Then only !!! As my brother got thru that so I have an idea !!!

Hi All !!!

Just wanted to share smthin for FMS...
I appeared for it when there was two separate paper for MBA and MBA-MS two years ago and last yr as well ...
What I want to say is with reference to Quaunts...quants is easy but the prob is too many questions but simple question so ppl keep on solving them without much realising time...
So just Speed-up....
My stress is to practise lots of simple questions...imagine some where like simple fraction questions were there.....approach shd be to focus basic question....simple-2 basic calculation would be very helpful !!!!

By any chance do you know Shraddha..Chemical Eng...ur batch ...I met her during my Summer Internship at IIT kanpur !!!

could you please elobarate on this... what i knew is that the prepatory course is for general candidates as well (there were couple of frds from gen cat) and it wasnt compulsory!
what u have said... is it something like what IITs have for B.Tech courses for st/sc candidates ??? so for them the 4 yr course becomes a 5 yr course... dont tell me same logic yaha pe bhi hai

keep ur fingers crossed bro sibm touch and go as per last year cutoffs and scmhrd is more into experienced and profile based siib is good chance and for spjain lat year cutoffs were in the 95 %ile range and no reservation but nitie a definite chance hope for the best
