Heck i've seen it happen in IIMs that the there are waiting lists and ppl dont fill it. My friend was called to an IIM 2days before classes officially started. So, pathetic situation in the IIMs too na??

Why IIMs?? Even other colleges have waiting lists. Its a simple process of colleges hedging their bets to make sure they have students to fill their alloted seats.

And you know this from personal experience?? There are plenty of people from D.U who are regulars here and most even post and help newbies. Whether its a modified M.E or not is irrelevant no? Even the IIMs dont give you an MBA, just a diploma that is considered equivalent to an MBA. Hence the PGD

Right calculations rahul190685..but I guess a wrong conclusion.

All colleges in India have waitlists..and they will keep coming out till they feel that they filled up the required number of seats. No use having seats vacant. As far as people not taking up seats is concerned..that is probably because MBE results came out pretty late. So i guess either most ppl took admission in some college or decided to have another go at MBA season 2008.

Many ppl dont turn up for the interviews of programmes as elite as IMT G ( I can bet on this..You want the guys id..let me know..) Its all a matter of personal perception...I also know someone who didnt join FMS ( A final convert ) Its entirely a personal decision based on what one thinks is good for his/her career goals.

As far as the course is concerned...Its not an MBA degree. Who claimed it was one in the first place? Its A mix of MBA and some papers on MA (Economics) and the degree offered rightly confers upon the passing students a Master's Degree in Business Economics. Adding on further to it the ppl joining MBE are very much sure abt the course they are about to join/have passed out; and the career alternatives that it can open or shut out for them.

I can say that very confidently for sure as Im also joining the course.

PS - You certainly dont sound like a newbie. I frankly feel ur not one.

Re: MBE - Delhi University - 24-05-2008, 07:00 PM

well i think the best answer to Mr. Rahul here would be to give him the royal ignore. Giving importance to what he has said would only fuel the fire and prolong the utter stupidity that he has started. The replies given till now are enough for sensible people to differentiate between truth and just plain frustration. Lets all chill and let him burn in his incompetence of not securing an MBE seat.

People like him are what b-skools dont need.

Also getting replies from people who aren't even pursuing MBE are proof enough of its reputation. A sincere thanks to NEO2000 and jazz_sachit
Cheers

Re: MBE - Delhi University - 25-05-2008, 12:07 AM

This vilification is totally uncalled for and even though i can put all doubts of rahul to rest but since he has did this not only for MBE but also for LBSIM i think mods should look into this...as vilification of any college is not allowed...

and rather than paying heed to him i think "the Royal ignore" is a must and MODS should look into the matter...

P.s i wanna make it clear I seriously can put all doubts to rest but somehow the manner in which this has come up only shows the lack of seriousness with which the answer will be taken up. I think my reply will not help in bringing saneness to the person concerned.

still i personally have nothing against it..but just wanted to be an eye opener for those who r thinking to take admission it it....becoz i recon all those who have cracked the written r worthy for much more...and much beter...!!!
Yaar my reason of not joining MBE is different.........I know one senior who rejected FORE last year for MBE.......MBE is good course and best part is that delhi university is recognised worldwide.....
I dont agree with yr waitlisted calculation........but agree with you that in MBE the emphasis is more on theory nd practical exposure is little less......but MBE passout are doing extremely good in there respective careers........ultimately it depends on individual how much effort he/she puts in the 2 yrs.....
Brother all IIM passout students are not sucessfull........and all MBE passout students are doing good in their careers........all these colleges are just entry points to start yr career in the corporate world......baad mai sirf knowledge kaam aati hai naki IIM ka thapa.....hope i dont hurt anybodys sentiments.........
