Amiable guy there will be no guarantee required if the loan amount is below 4 lacs (that was the stipulation last time) and this is followed everywhere in India for loans for higher education within India. There will be a document of assets and liabilities of the guardian which your parent has to fill in. There was this talk going around in government circles that the govt will be the guarantor for all education loans, that is yet to be implemented. Also I guess last time the loan had this guideline of the interest on the loan being paid monthly alongside the loan period, in other words, the interest has to be paid while you are studying which has to be paid by your parent or if you have the resources then you will pay. This was advantageous as well as disadvantageous.... advantage is that when u pass out u will not have any arrears on the interest portion and will not pay any interest on interest ....disadvatageous becoz it will still mean that your parents will be paying the interest..anyways the monthly interest payable will be small I guess a few hundred rupees in the beginning and towards the end of the course it will be around Rs.3000-4000
You will get all the latest details when u come to college and the bank officials make the presentation. Whatever I have said was valid last year.. it may change this year. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to PLODDER For This Useful Post:

On personal note I feel you might be able to score good with XAT prep in CAT although you might miss the last bit which required to get 99+ to get into IIMs
Again to reiterate this is just a personal opinion | | | | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to inkypinkyponky For This Useful Post:

Hello everyobody & seniors,
I had been selected at LIBA and had sent a DD of 65,000 Rs... But then on 12 May I requested to withdraw from the course and asked for a refund of 64k as per AICTE rules...
Sent emails, letter through speedpost... but no reply...
I am getting tensed - Do they have intention of refunding or not and when.
When I call up they say that the concerned person is not there and I should call up sometime after or a few days after.
LIBA is a good insitute and I know it does not indulge in crap activites to hoard money unlike other private colleges..
But I want my refund as soon as possible.. Seniors pls help

XAT -447071 | hey rajeevkasat since LIBA is an AICTE approved institute you will get back your money but you should be patient and get in touch with the concerned person, one thing is there is that you should get to know who is the person who will actually okay the withdrawal....in fact I also don't know who will finally okay the withdrawal...I don't thing that once the money has been paid the admission people have anything to say... If I am correct you should try and get the name of the person who will okay the withdrawal and then speak to him/her directly. That will speed up matters....I hope this will help..
