i'm very sorry to bug u with the same kind of query that has been answered many times before... but really needed ur opinion on this.. my xat scores r

verbal-97.070
quant-16.050
reasoning-99.800
oa-96.21

i know i have a pretty screwed up score in quant.. still do i stand a chance to get a call on the basis of my overall percentile.??

HeY Komalkalyani!

See as we have said before, all people with a low score in any one section should hope that the low score in that section is pardoned by the admission cell at LIBA and they invite you for the further admission process...According to me, you have more then 50% chances of getting a call...

Hello Seniors,
My XAT score in 89.12( Verbal-98.45 Quant-54 Logic-74)......Seeing the earlier post last years cut off was 92.XX my chances are very sleek.....
But now that i have already missed a call from GIM by less then 1 percentile and i am a bit desperatew to make it to a good B-School this year i need ur advice as to weather i should aplly for LIBA or not.....the deadline is fast approaching.......
Also by any chance does LIBA give profile based calls or is it pulrely on XAT scores.......I have 14 months of work-ex....can tht compensate for my low XAT percentile?
when do the terms start for LIBA?

I must tell you that the cut off is expected to go up this year and the only means till now for the shortlisting has been the XAT score and there is high probability that the same trend will follow. Nevertheless the decision is upto you about giving LIBA a try or not.....and as far as the question of terms is there I am not clear about what term u are talking about. If u r talking about the term in LIBA it will most probably start from the first week of June(the preliminary classes) and the session will start from last week of June 2008 at the same time that we will be back from our summers.....

yeh by terms i mean normal classes.....as i have my CFA exasm in the frist week of june....

bacause my xat score is
ov-98.84
va-94.56
qa-95.57
di-97.89
my sectional cutoff is good.if anybody hav 99.25%ile but in section is bad.
then will liba prefer me ???

I've posted the PA form today. The brochure was very well designed. In fact, it's one of the best I've come across this yr.

I've 2 questions:

1. Are there student committees for placement, admissions etc?

2. There are many specializations mentioned. Is specializing in any of them allowed? Do u have people specializing in general management or IB?

Well i can understand when you say that ur not sure whether u should apply to LIBA or not... Probably many of us were in your shoes last year at the same time of the year... But its almost 8 months since I have been here at LIBA n I must tell you the decision to join LIBA has been one of the great moves i have taken...

As an aspiring candidate for a good B-school you got to take a look at the overall culture of the place, the faculty, industry interface n yeah the placements that the college has to offer( n offcourse a whole lot of other factors).... Now its upto you to see if you fit in the LIBA culture, n are excited about the faculty Liba has to offer(know more about the faculty by clicking this link LOYOLA - Institute of Business Administration) or are happy with the amazing placements that LIBA has to offer then apply to LIBA(check page 3 n 4 of this thread for placement details)...

Hope that was able to clear ur doubts

Hey anujsahu!

First of all congrats on ur excellent percentile... Just to clarify that LIBA does not consider ur XAT percentile in the GD/PI round.. The XAT percentile is only to select the students for the GD/PI round... Hence you will have no extra preference to be selected over say someone who has got a 99.25%ile but is bad in sectionals...

After the students have been shortlisted for the GD/PI has equal chances of being selected irrespective of the XAT percentile... Whether you make it or not will depend entirely on how you perform for the GD/PI round...
