i am kamaldeep singh (my score 73 marks.... jmet rank 117) currently a first year mba student at dms iit-d
if you have any queries regarding dms iitd you are most welcome to ask

(kindly refrain from asking questions regarding b school comparisons0

some general gyan
last year ,last rank for gd/pi called - 393 approx
after gd/pi
first list- 58 selected ...waitlist moved to about 105 after that due to ppl leaving for iims and other preferred b schools

quant was easy last year , cut off around 3-4 marks only(i know a puy with 4.25 who got iit calls) one cud have easily scored 10-13 marks by just capitalising on normal qa questions

cut offs for each section were there

also iit's allow Msc 's and BIS people to sit for jmet (we have a person from each of these fields in our batch)

dms offers two courses as mba programs
Focus on mgmt systems (dlm)60 seats
Focus on telecom systems(dlt course) 15 seats

but they have no obligation to fill all seats , our batch strength is 50 , our seniors had batch str of 63 , their seniors had a batch of 42 only

thanks for starting this useful thread. i would like to know what is meant by mgmt systems. also currently i am working in Evalueserve with Telecom as my vertical. how much will that help for telecom systems (if i get a call - touchwood).

thatz the technical definition .......it's hasn't got anything to do with IT wala systems if that is what you wanted to ask.

if you have been in telecom vertical and are interested in continuing in the same field then surely ur work ex will help in ur interview but then you must be well prepared. If you will show your predisposition for telecom then u will be grilled on everything related to that

Hi Amartya.

We are learning the same issues like convergence in our telecom system management paper.
Apart from that there is no much difference in both the courses.
Only 3 paapers are different.

Top 5 students in Telecom will get scholarship.
We are having some classes in Bharti school of Telecom.
Airtel lecture series and all others are additional benefits for telecom students.

You can take Specilization In Fin, Mark , system....
Telecom is the focus paper not the Specilization...

If you are focused towards telecom no other B school will offer you the same kind of course.

I Would like to add some information...

IIT Delhi take admissions to masters also.....
If you are having MA in Economics, M com , Msc ( maths, stats , physics, chem ). or a professional degree like CA you can apply to JMET and IITD...

We are having 3 non engineers out of 50 including a M Com.....
Compare to other IIT B schools we are having advantage of having them in our class.....

All masters do apply to jmet.......

applying for jmet exam , gives us option yo aplly to all the colleges under Jmet umbreall , or we have to buy seperate forms..

What's a good book to follow for QA? Please list the books you followed, those books which were really helpful to crack JMET.

I believe other than QA, rest would be CAT stuff. Only QA seems to be more for the mathematicians around.

You have to buy separate forms for other IITs. You usually do that after you have given JMET and you got the results. So based upon your rank, you can apply for different colleges.

Now my query, How much time do we have after the JMET results to fill other forms?
