in my case i dint need any special prep for JMET quant , study package of CL did the job for me ....also i had joined TIME test series (OMETS)
You just need to know the basic fundas and also be able to identify where to apply which funda ,, that shud do the job

You can take the book of abhijeet guha for preparation(it does not have higher maths qns) or RS agarwal's book ......dont know much about books ...

Since u got thru....can u suggest some material from where we can learn the concepts of variance, regression etc, parabola and all sich topics that are asked exclusively in JMET. What is the level of difficulty to expect??....

Thanks in advance.

@dvmba you will have approx 15- 20 days for applying To IIT B schools.

@abhrabumba from last year JMET has changed the pattern in Quant.

You will have very less questions from co-ordinate and calculas.
No need of preparing Higher mathematics like parabola nad integration.

You can just go through basics of functions, graphs, summation of series, bit of stats (like variance and reg )........ you can use any class 11-12 book for that.

I will suggest you to give more attention to the cat material..
some 25 plus questions out of 40 are from them....
And as per last year 10+ is a good score in quant.

No need to worry...
Its a myth that quant of jmet is too difficult to crack.

Thanks

@amartya for our batch it was 60% aggregate not indivisual sem. We have not heard of any such changes.

Hello Guys,

A formal welcome to this thread on behalf of the students of DMS, IIT Delhi. We are a team of 6 students representing each committee and will be handling your admission queries from this moment onwards. Please feel free to ask any sort of questions regarding any aspect of the admissions process/life or anything remotely related to DMS here.

We are very proud to announce that some huge events are lined up for this year, one among them being...
Quote:
DMS, IIT Delhi is pleased to host the ET Citi Grandmasters 2007. This
is a national level B-School Challenge, sponsored by Economic Times
and Citi.

It is a 3 level challenge with the first level being a case study,
second level being an analysis of a real life past corporate situation
and the third round being a quiz and a debate. The quiz will be hosted
by quizmaster Derek O'Brien.

For further details, visit ET citi grand masters
We just had a mind boggling lecture Mr. Martin Haemmig, advisor to the World Economic Forum a couple of days ago. Proud to add that such events are a routine at DMS.

So, Let the questions roll!

Cheers,
Anand,
Team DMS, IIT Delhi
Batch of 2009.

Hey Ankur...
Blame my MBA, I forgot the exact numbers of wht our jmet had! But, b assured that it can be completed in time, if u plan ur paper right. More than the number, the strategy is important. Number of questions have been same in all sections over the years, but then the second name of these papers is 'Surprise'. SO gear up yourself!

Our approach was maximum accuracy, especially in Quant. The VA should be easier, after you have prepared for CAT, but for Quant you need to have a discerning eye to filter out the easier questions from the lot and work on them. Choose your questions well in CAT, take calculated risks, and always maintain high accuracy level. That ll help!
