Hey Sahil...!!
well..u asked about the placement scenario...i'll start wid last yr's highest salary (which i guess i've posted umpteen noof times on this thread...!!) well...it was ( lakh per annum...and the avg salary was 6.57 lakhs..per annum...!!!!!
well,,,,...abt the companies that visit our campus....the list is almost endless...the types of companies range from...Amul, Bisleri,American Express Bank.............................................. ..............................................
to HCL technologies, TCS,Price Water House Coopers,,,!!!
thereare many more...which r left out....the numerous dots in b/w...say it all..!!

Well as far as accommodation is concerned...it is not a Residential B school...(but so is Everybody's Sweetheart FMS..!! )
that's the DU deal ...anyways...!!
but in case u r nt from Delhi..u can find accommodation easily at the local PGs here..!!

cud u plz gmme a lowdown on d kind's of profiles offerd since its a niche course aimed at Int. Bus.........as dis wud help sumbudy lk me 2 mk my choice of applyin or not mre easier.

well...the profiles offered by the companies is that of a management trainee...n ..since u asked me about the utility of this "niche international business" related course....well...u r equipped with something called a dual specialization....(1 in Inernational Business n the other in an area of ur interest..in which u do ur summer internship..)
since the coll does not provide the option of selecting ur electives..u study..all the 3 areas of specialization(marketin , Hr , Finance) with an International perspective..!!
do..keep posting any other queries realted to this course on this thread....thanx..

To answer the question u asked to Prachi about the kind of profiles offered to GBO students,...

Well i can very well tell u a development that took place yesterday..
6 of my seniors got Placed in TRIDENT in the profile of Deputy Manager with a package of 9 lakhs Rs.

This is a fresh example of profiles offered to GBO students..Rest the profiles differ from industry to industry..
For Research organisations, Market intelligence firms & KPO's the profiles can vary from Research Associate to Associate consultants also business Analysts..
Ditto for other industries the profiles are jumior to mid management level profiles. Also, profiles may vary for functional areas as well lik HR-marketin -fin.. it really depends on the company..

Last year batch was placed in firms like DTZ (real estate consultancy), Trident, DSCL (DCM shriram), AC Nielson, IMRB, Centurion bank of punjab, HCL technologies, Jaypee commodities, Standard Chartered BAnk, Pipal research... etc... The entired batch was swiped off!

Hope now many queries are solved..

well i'm a bit sceptical abt the placement figures...
u guys r sayin that the average is 6.57 lacs but i have seen the last year admission brochure of GBO stating it to be 3.8 lacs...if within 1 yr it has jumped so much then its remarkable achievement for u guys...but if not so then plz confirm the figures from reliable sources ..
many of my frnds who r appearin for mangmnt exams this year are asking me abt the palcement scenario at GBO n i dnt want to misguide them as i'm nt sure of the figures u guys are projecting...
so plz confirm...

I totally understand ur scepticism.. well i wud lik to tall u tat the brochure that u r reffering to is showin placemnet figures of 2006... What prachi has mentioned are figures of 2007 batch..

N as far as u r sayin tat u shud refer to reliable sources... apporv we ourselves hav joined the course n our sources are our seniors who r definitely not Unreliable..n yes the placement figures hav jumped soo much.. To ur surprise i can understan.. SRCC is somethin n in times to come, u l be more surprised..

As far as more reliability is concerned, Myself n Prachi are both SRCC B. COM HONOURS students!! WE know the ins n out of SRCC.. it runs in our blood n we r extremely proud to be associted with it..

On top of it i wud lik to add apporv, its good tat u r askin such questions.. n believev me tell this to ur frens, opting B school eduaction is a very critical decision n opinions about various colleges will differ from person to person.. it a one lovely experience in ur life so its gud tat each student follows his own perception.. Wat may be gud for me may not be gud for u n vice versa... TAke time to analyse things.. everyone is confused at this stage.. i understand wat u pepl r goin thru..

Don worry u l make to a very gud place, on top of it remember..At the end U must be HAPPY!.. so all d best..

Again i wud lik to mention 3.8 approx lacs was infact the lowest tat was offered on campus... I jus saw tat u r already a student of MBE.. a fellow delhi uni college... gud to meet u.. hows it goin at college? we r havin our mid terms, wat about u?
