hey kbipul...reply to ur queries.
1st n foremost TISS we have a 7 day working culture. but yes on rare occasions we get the sunday off ;-)
since we dont have 5 day weeks our load is uniformly distributed across the 7 days. u will always have time to take a break, relax etc.
.ill answer to ur questions one by one.
1. Preparations for the Quants,Maths,DI,LR etc. of TISS is not required if u are giving other exams like JMET,XAT,CAT,SNAP. u just gotta brush up ur business and genral awareness.
2. General awareness cannot be studied. it has to be built(normal newspapers). mine was not built i just got plain lucky that most questions that came i knew ;-)
3. The topic we got were "which is more harmful to india , overpolulation or corruption". if u are lucky u will get a generic topic. you will get two topics , total time 25 mins. u gotta pick a topic among them as a group , discuss and conclude.(self run GD). preperation fo GD again normal awareness. no rocket science involved in it.
4. a long answer i will post it sometime later. my apologies.
5.panel focuses on u as a person. ur achievements. ur confidence level, ur written score, and most importantly will u fit into TISS campus's culture.
6. yes tons and tons of things to share. we've got time for that right ? take it easy.

Peace.

dear maverick.
the gdpi calls were given this year, april 2008, not last year.
anyways roughly 3600 gdpi calls were given for the 60 seats TISS has.
the entire month of april went in conducting these gdpi's.

I am really amused what's the big logic to give so many calls for so less number of seats? This means they are really looking for people who can do well in GD? Do we need to write some kind of essay during the GD/PI process

usually they give around 1200-1300 calls. this time TISS gave 3600 calls because the fixed cut-off '43' doesnt change & the paper was easier than before. so many people cleared the cutoffs. so TISS was forced to give 3600 calls. and the weightage for final total is divided between:
GD,PI,written score,work-ex,academics,profile etc.
so you have to be balanced in all these to make it. dont worry there is no essay to be written during GDPI.

Thanks a lot for patiently replyig to my post.
I believe TISS looks for people having inclination towards the field of HR,
I am software guy, so I guess it will be hard 4 me to convince interview panel why I should be part of TISS?
