Well anyone in Mumbai City who has NOT received the admit card as yet? or is mine a stray incident?... do i need to press the panic button now and call the institute?

Even I haven't received the admit card....from Pune though....any idea by when we woluld get the admit card?

Regarding previous year exam papers,
it must be noted that the pattern has been changing every year.. the essay was done away with from last year.. this year there is a seperate paper for thoise taking up HR...

The test will be easier than most Competitive exams. so you have to make sure you answer most of the questions correctly.
the questions were on SI-CI,percentages,equations and other basic topics.
so the best thing would be to prepare for Quant,DI and verbal as you would for any competitive exam.
Read about the latest in GK or whatever events and major changes took place last year.
You acn find such info in magazines like Competition success review, Competition refresher,Manorama etc on or PG forums also!

And regarding the admission process..
last year also around 5-6K ppl applied for the MA HRM&LR.. around 300-400 ppl were shortlisted for GD/PI. and 68 (correct me if i am wrong) were finally shortlisted for the course.

Hello Ram,
I have been a silent reader of TISS Threads.Had posted some queries earlier.At this point of time I am really keen to get through TISS for many reasons..I am a software engineer working with TCS for more than 2 yrs and i am interested in switching to HR at the earliest possible.
I need some of ur inputs to brush up GK/Current Affairs/Caselets questions on HR/general management.I am really poor in GK,still if u feel I should do some specific preparation which could help me to clear the written part,it will be a great help..Also what can be done to practise caselets on management..I m going through the CSRs of previous months.Pls suggest anything which could be best for this time?I understand these r really vast subjects and I m asking all this at 11th hour but i m just too nervous and i dont want to let this chance go..Hope I get some help..

Most of my friend's here in Mumbai have received the admit card... some got it as early as a week and a half ago... while going through the thread i found out that you can attend the exam even if you have not received the card... (pls check earlier messages in the thread...too lazy to search for it right now...)

I suggest we wait till Wednesday noon after which i shall call up TISS and find out any possible alternatives... will keep you updated in case i receive it before hand...kindly let me know in case you get it too...

i have a doubt.... In sample ques posted on site , it is written in instructions that all questions are compulsary.....does that mean we have to attempt all ques and guess the ones we dnt know......we shud mark ques that we are not sure of????????????

I haven't got it (the admit card i.e.) yet... (Have You?) My center is the same as yours... it is also known as RAIT (that is what it is popularly named as i think...). I guess the best way is on harbor line get down at Nerul and then take a rickshaw to the campus...

ps. depends where you stay of course (western/central line), but a lot is happening on that day; like the mumbai marathon... so it will be difficult to get cars/etc there...

Yup, I guess thats what they mean by compulsory... we would have to mark all the answers regardless of if you know it or not; Hope this situation does not turn up too often though... be trigger happy... :-)

Hi Anju,

I am in Gurgaon ..been in TCS for more than 2 years ...want to get through TISS badly ...how come we never met ....(just kidding )

just giving u my point of view ...I think whatever u find on wikipedia et al..
about basic HR .(which won't be much) should suffice and as we all are new to this pattern ... one can never be sure of what to expect in Paper II..

I am one of the rejects of the last year ..hope to be lucky this time around ... but even I am feeling a little apprehensive about this new pattern ...

so let's hope for the best ...
maybe if anyone of us can find HR glossary somewhere and post it on forum it will come very handy to all of us ....I'll try and If I find it I'll post it here.
