The competency level will be very high.
Most of my batch mates have a higher percenile in CAT/XAT.
As per the collected records from 15 (random asking) of my batch mates to answer ur query, the average competency percentile is 94-95 percentile of that of CAT/XAT.
3 of the current batch mates have around 99 percentile, 3 of us more than 98, 5 of us around 95. Its just that most of us could not clear the cutoff in verbal section of CAT/XAT.
Most of us looked for solid brands like IITs/IIMs/XLRI/MDI/SPJain etc. This is the situation at IIT K.
It you take IIT Mumbai, you can find candidates having 99.95+ in their CAT/XAT.
V IITians have foregone the so called 'poular collages' (as per magazine rankings/institute rankings) after having seen the quality level at IITs. Its just that IITs don't participate in rankings. Go to any IIT/IISc, speak to the students there, you understand what kind of knowledge, skill, communication and clarity they have.

I would just like to add some icing to the cake :-)

Not only the IIT MBA students possess good CAT/XAT percentiles, many of us have left other higher ranked colleges to join IITs for MBA. And thats the situation at all the IITs people leaving their final converts with those colleges (with due respect to these colleges). Add to that... this is not the situation this year.. but has been the situation for the last 3-4 years in every IIT.

And some other indicators of the talent that we guys possess.. just look at the companies(and more importantly the profiles) that have been visiting our campusses for placements(visit the individual IIT/IISc site for the same info).

The JMET online registration has began on this auspicious occasion. The first stage of the process can be began from your side. Hope that IITs & IISc will be good enough in the next 2 yrs to match the creamiest institutes of the country. We as your preceding batches & you as following batch work in conjunction to make it.
The following link is where the instructions are given.

The online form is stunning with its simplicity. Kudos to IIT kgp.

Read the instructions carefully b4 filling the form.
At the outset, I'll describe the process this way. This can be taken as a quick notes

THINGS TO BE DONE BEFORE GOING TO NET FOR REGISTRATION

1). Pls make a DD (in case if you don't have a SBI ATM card) of Rs. 750/- in favor of IIT KHARAGPUR on any nationalised bank payable at Kharagpur, West Bengal.

2). Calculate your engg marks (as per year) separately. I have a vague idea that i entered my B tech marks as per 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th yr.

THINGS TO BE DONE WHEN YOU GO TO NET

1). Ask the internet cafe in-charge whether the system that u r sitting on has a direct printer connection. At times they say we have a printer n when the time comes, they give u a floppy expecting it to be a downloaded file. So, ensure that there is online printing.
2). Read the instructions carefully before beginning with the process. Make a short note of certificates to be attached etc.
2). Enter correct details. After the registration, make a note of online code/no. generated for you.
3). Take the address of IIT kgp address as given in the instructions.
4). Photo & signature at the mentioned places
5). Attach the form, enclosures & send it.

SINCERE REQUEST

pls don't wait for the last date. At times, the online page might get so busy to load. My friend forgot the last date despite several reminders & could not write the exam. He did not miss an exam but an opportunity to do his MBA from the prestigious institutes. So, pls register as per your convenience but as early as possible.

Hi guys,
I have a query regarding eligibility. some IITs mention that aggregate marks in BE/B.Tech should be 60% while some say that first class BE degree. I have done my BE(Comp) from pune.here degrees are awarded on basis of last year marks only. I am having 66% as(distinction) on my degree but when it comes to aggregate I have 59.xx. Am I eligible for all the IITs or a few of them only?
Please let me know as I am ver confused. I will also be having work ex of arnd 2.5 years till next march in IT sector.

U can sit for JMET.
U can apply for IISc as it requires at least a second class.
The IIT Kgp & The IIT Madras state that first class is required. So, u r eligible there also.
But u r not eligible for the other IITs as they strctly go w.r.t. aggregate marks only.

Don't worry. Stay focused and appear for JMET. Try 4 it.

I am sure that you must be praying him for the good things to happen, the exam to happen without hicups, admission into B school..

I am also doubly sure that you must have kept flas cards, quant, verbal, DI, reasoning, engg books in front of the LORD, seeking his blessings.

True, that would be the case with most of you junta.
After all, we have passed through the same path last year.
We are really blessed to get into these institutes. We are really enjoying it. The brand of IITians has really made us something different in social community. I am again sure that you too would want the same blessings n the status of being an IITian.

Just stay on the track, don't lose confidence whether your mock scores are discouraging/encouraging. My CAT mock performance (of TIME) started with a bang, 97 percentile, 96, 92,.....99.97, 95, 70, 85, 88,...94.
Any point of time, i was sure of onething, whether is it 99.97/70, I am goin to join a B school this year.

That very thought was more than a booster and it helped me to be here.

So, stay enthusiastic and cheerful.

we are helpless in this regard as we don't have these papers of 2005/04
If you are a student of TIME (not sure abt other institutes), they will give you replica papers (close to actual JMET papers)

Most of the junta have very balance performances across different exams. Though I opted NMIMS in the last, I was 'almost there' at Kanpur . Have a look at my scores:

JMET: 536, NMAT: 277, XAT: 95.4, CAT: 91, SNAP: 80 & TISS.

You should have no doubts on 'quality' front when you look to IITK.

Hello dear friend,
I have a question here...

In your post ,u have advised us to calculate out B.Tech marks ,but while filling the JMET form,i did not need them anywhere as they have not been asked .Am i missing something ....

Any other person ,who is clear with it .. please clear my confusion also .....
