hi puys..
with less than 10 days for GD/Pi, i am sure you must be preparing with a plan for GD/PI..
Here are some points/questions I feel that might be useful to you while preparing for PI..
1. Personal Questions:
a. Related to liking/hobbies/achievements: If you are talking about something in particular, pls make sure you know that thing in & out.
ex: If u are claiming badminton as your hobby, make sure you know each & everything about it. Court's dimensions, major tournaments, top players even the weight of shuttle

. This help to boost your confidence. ( I personally was asked to name India's top three women players last year)
b. Avoid giving general answers: Reading is general hobby that everyone has

. When u say reading, what types of books, why those only, latest books that u read, u must be ready with all these questions..
c. Usually most interviewers ask questions about meaning of your name/surname, the place from you are, its specialty, family background at the beginning of the interview. Most of the time the objective of the questions is not to judge you, but to make you relax & feel comfortable...so don't get confused while answering these questions or if you can't answer them. That may make you nervous & you may spoil your entire interview. Its alright if you can't answer some of these answers. They rarely affect your final selection..
(Last yr in IIT D, I was asked who is famous personality with my surname, Vinoba Bhave, What work he did, :snipersm:, where is his aashram located, Clean Bold :-?...though I couldn't answer where the aashram is, managed to get through IIT D)
Bottomline: Be prepared about such questions. Though they are trivial, answerig them properly will set up the momentum for you..
2. Technical Questions from graduation: Chances for freshers being asked such questions are more. But even work ex people shall brush up the basic questions..
ex: Mech engg. is expected to know difference between diesel & petrol engine, even if he has 10 yrs of work ex. Though they are unlikely to be asked the cycles that each type follow.
Any engineer is expected to know Newton's laws. So atleast brush up the basics. If possible prepare one or two subjects well so if you are asked ur favorite subject, you may gain some advantage there...
3. General Questions about Finance, marketing etc.: No one expects aspirants to know how GDP is affected because of certain factors...(that u are supposed to study in MBA

) though you must know what GDP is, how it is calculated generally..
(One of questions I faced was what is PPP??, don't say Purchasing Power Parity, they were asking Public Private Partnership

)....
Bottomline: You shall know the general terms about finance/other things that pop up in newspapers/news frequently..
I will post some more points as I remember, but pls don't take it that u will be asked similar type questions, this is just a guideline based a on personal observation, on which you can prepare to boost your confidence....
