hi nostalgiuz,
1) get ur certificate attested by a gazetted officer..
2) i don't know where did u hear SJMSOM is a school for marketing specialization. i hear it for the 1st time and it's not true. i won't say any particular specialization is good or bad here as all are given equal importance.
3) the operations faculty/course are quite good.. you can have details about faculty/placements at our website SJMSOM
4) i will enquire about the SAP certification query but i doubt any college extends that facility..

SJMSOM offers a host of courses in operations and the faculty is excellent.. !
You can see the electives offered in Operations HERE.
Please note that the above courses are over and above the basic courses on Management.
Regarding the Faculty, I am in second year and for Operations, presently we have 2 core faculty and 2 faculty from the industry teaching us.
Here are the details of the core operations faculty:
Prof. (Ms) Karuna Jain, Ph.D., IIT Kharagpur; Post-Doctoral Fellow, Faculty of Management, University of Calgary, Canada.
Prof. (Ms.) Karuna Jain is Professor of Technology & Operations Management at Shailesh J Mehta School of Management, Indian Institute of Technology – Bombay, Mumbai India. Being as electrical engineer, she worked as an IES officer in DoT (Govt. of India) for three years before joining IIT Bombay. A PhD from IIT Kharagpur, Prof. Jain has extensive industrial and teaching experience in the field of Operations and Technology Management. Her current areas of research interest include Technology and Innovations Management, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, and Intellectual Property Right. She has published extensively in national and international journal and participated in international conferences in the area of Technology and Operations management (IAMOT, POMS, PICMET, WCIC and IFTM).
She has been elected as Vice President, Programs and Meeting, Indian Subcontinent Region of Decision Sciences Institute (DSI). She is a Member, Education Committee of the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS). She has also been awarded “Emerald Literati Network 2007 Awards for Excellence” for her joint paper published in Journal of Intellectual Capital.
Prof. Gajendra Kumar Adil, Ph.D, University of Manitoba, Canada, CPIM.
He has worked as Asst. Professor, Bilkent University, Turkey and City University of Hongkong. He also worked as technology transfer consultant at i2 Technologies, USA and as Industrial engineer at Bristol Aerospace Ltd. His publications have appeared in leading journals such as Operations Research, IIE Transactions, International Transactions in Operational Research, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Research and Journal of Manufacturing Systems. His fields of interest include operations management and decision sciences.
I dont have so much details of the visiting faculty but they are some of the best in the industry. Their designations speak for themselves. One of them is an has his own consulting form and is an SCM consultant and the other who is teaching us Materials Managements is the Directors of a chemical firm.
One of our other faculty who will be teaching us "World Class MAnufacturing" in the next sem is the Director in NICMAR.
I hope this puts to rest any doubts you have about the faculty at SOM.
Regards
Ramesh

You can pick electives not only across sepcializations but also across departments. Thats one of the biggest advantages of being in an IIT setup. Some of the SJMSOM guys have even taken courses on Photography, Psychology and similar things. This is just to make the point that there are no restrictions here and you may choose whatever you feel like.
Moreover, the choice of electives offered is huge. For eg., in this term of 3 months, I have to choose 5 electives from as many as 14 choices! and here I am only talking about electives offered by our dept. If I include the institute electives (many of which are directly relevant to management), the choices would sky rocket!
Cheers
Ramesh

The reason for this q is that im gud at visualisation and 3D stuff...also have a liking for drawing and sketching...
