Hi Nachiket ,

I am an aspirant for doing my MBA from IITs. I am filling up the JMET form . I have a few queries :

1. IS it mandatory to send DD of NATIONALISED bank ? I mean will there be a problem if I send DD of other banks ?

2. I know that we need to apply separately to the targetted institutes . Please let us know the application process for SJMSOM.

Regards,
Thanks a ton for opening thus thread :-)

Hi , As for the Admissions to SJMSOM ,it will only start after the JMET results are out and you will have enough time to fill in the apllication form after the results.Right now just focus on giving JMET and getting a good rank. As for the DD query, as far as I know you can send a DD from any bank it should not be an issue , but I will confirm the same and let you know. All the best for your JMET preparations and if you have any more queries you can put them out here.

Hi,

Thanks a ton for your reply . Actually, I do not want to miss the deadline for application. Hence , I am keeping a track of the dates. I did not know that one can apply apply for SJM / VG / DOMS after the JMET.

JOY

yes, JMET is a common exam.. and after results are out (in Jan 200 you need to send applications to all colleges (SJMSOM, VGSOM, DOMs) separately..

A little query with regards to SJSOM
SJSOM qoutes

Students with a first class Bachelor's degree in engineering (or equivalent) or first class Master's degree in Science are eligible for admission to the M.Mgt. Programme. Students should have secured min. 60% aggregate marks / min. CGPI of 6.5 out of 10 at the qualifying examination. Work experience is desirable but not mandatory.

Candidates appearing for the final degree examination can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, provided they complete all requirements for the qualifying degree at the time of joining the course.

1. I have a first class degree in engg as we were conferred the same on the final years marks.
2. My aggregrate marks is 58 %

Seniors, puys plz chip in
Is there any relaxation on the 60% aggregate marks required for scheduled caste candidates? Please answer.

talked to the official and this is what he says "As there is no special mention about relaxation of percentage for SC/ST candidates in the brochure the cut-off for them would remain the same i.e. 60%"

hope this answers ur question..

Added later: "after discussion with SOM faculty, admission team it was decided that SC/ST cutoff will be 55% and Gen cutoff would remain same i.e. 60%"
