Taken the NMAT twice. Cleared both times. Got through Mgt. Quota in 2005-06 and did not take it up.
Got through it last year and now in the first year. Pursuing MBA (Core)

I have two queries:

1: How much work-ex actually counts? Are there any specific marks assigned for certain no, of years of work-ex? (Like in CET).
2: Does NMAT have negative marking? If yes, then what is the general trend as in -1/3 or -1/4?

last year in the overall assessment work was given 6% weightage or so..in a distribution of 300 marks work ex accounted for 15 or 20...
the distribution was as follows
200-writen nmat
30-cbt
20-work ex
50-gd/pi

i am not entirely sure about the distribution other than nmat writen..i hope drag can clarify here...but it was somewhat nearabouts only..


marks for work ex were given depending on duartion and quality of work ex..

nmat does have negative marking...last yr it was -1/4

Do not go on cutoffs mentioned as coaching institutes always play it safe.
someone with 75+ and 2 years of work ex and above average gd/pi has a descent chance of making it based on last years paper.
freshers must score high to accomodate for the loss in work-ex marks during gd/pi stage.
Dipen i am sorry but i would be going against forum rules even if i give a percpetion based ranking or insight on the b-schools as that would amount to comparison and believe me majority of the B-schoolers are very touchy when it comes to his/her b-school and they wouldnt appreciate any comment on their institute. You are always free to adress the same query via pm.

There is no such course being offerred as of now. Try MICA :-)

Mgt. Quota - You have to clear the exam and do well in the following stages. Get a decent rank. And assuming you do not make it in the first 204 people, you can pay a little higher a fees and try and capture the remaining 36 seats (quota = 15%). This is only for the MBA (CORE) - FT course.
BUT you HAVE TO clear and be in the waiting list.

hiii ur saying there is no such course being offered at nmimns but when u open nmims official site NMIMS under full time mba core programme\program objectives\ in specialisation its mentioned!!!!
but there is no further detail mentioned n dats why i was sceptical regarding it ......
n mentioned my query here.......
