hi zubin,
i would like to d placement scenario in MFC,means d type of companies wich r coming to mfc, d profile dey r offfering, being a novice in dis area do help me out. even i have heard from somewhere d finance companies wich r coming to mfc r having profiles equivalent to d profiles wich r being offered in iims, correct me if i am wrong

hi...
the frms shd be out by last week of october mid november types....so the dates are notout as of yet..last year arnd it was in last weekof jan...
the paper comprises of 240 qstns divided into 4 sections of 60 qstns each...the 4 sections are english,maths,reasoning ability and gk...

the placements have been gr88 this year the avg was 7.25 and highest was 9.8. some of the companies we had on campus this year citigroup,kotak,icra jp morgan chase,client associates,standard charterd, axis bank,hsbc,kpmg........
a variety of proifiles were offered ranging frm consultancy,rating,equity research,wealth management etc..c we are not allowed any comparisons on pg so pls edit ur post accordingly...also the kindoff profile offered across diffrent bskools differs frm company to company...

The companies coming for placements seem to offer exceptional job profiles but the Intake seems very less , are there some specific prefrences like Wrok Ex. or excellent acads which form an integral part of the admission process.

c the intake is less bcoz its a specialized and a niche course though the faculty is planning to increase the intake to 40 but it all depends..
ya ppl wth work ex are preffered that is bcoz of the feedback recived frm the industry though nt having workex is nt a drawbak...the selection commitee tries to strike the right balance between ppl wth workex and freshers...c having anythng good in ur cv at the time of ur interviews is good be it excellent acads or be it extracurriculars all are a plus point..

I hv a peculiar query, but hope u guyz answer it....i'm an engineer and am keen pursue my mba wid a majors in finance and hence am intrstd in d MFC course.
Nw am not sure whether dis is d right kinda profile as accepted by d faculty??
Is it dat hvin a degree in commerce or economics etc wud gv 1 an edge??
cud u plz post sum data on d batch composition i.e. engg to non engg's??
Lastly can u throw sum mre light on d kind of profiles dat r offered by d companies visiting campus??

hi saahil...
u need not have any aprehensions about the fact that the faculty has a bias against engineers or being a commerce or an eco grad has an advantage there is nothing of this sort while selecting the batch the faculty takes care to have an equal mix from each background...so dnt worry abt the part that ur being an engineer puts u at a disadvantage...
in the second year we have 4 engineers out of a batch of 28.
in the first year we have 5 engineers out of a batch of 30.
as far as the job profiles are considered i have already posted the same in the earlier post wat else do u want to know if u cd b mre specific it will help me in answering ur query....

dude 1 mre thng hw many applications were rcd last yr?
and hw many wre shrt listd 4 d GD/PI?

Nice to c u active on this thread helping others . Well could u tell us approximately how many ppl took the mfc entrance test last year ? Also hw were the interviews , do they test some specific knowledge of finance eco etc ?( MFC being a finance specific insti ) .

last year we recvd smewere arnd 16000 applicants and arnd 15000 ppl appeared fr the exam finaly of which 360 ppl were shortlisted fr the gd pi and finally 30 were selected...
