see a lot of queries here are being repeated. u just need to go a few pages back and u'll find all ur answers. guys pls understand that v have our studies also to look after. our exams are beginning from 20th and the past week or so has been really hectic bcoz v r approaching semester end and there are loads of ppts, projects and deadlines. so its not possible for us to giv answers of same queries again n again.
u all r goin to be prospective managers. u'll b shouldering responsibilities in future. and its ur responsibility to go thru last 4-5 pages atleast b4 u put a query. everythin is generally answered there.
ppl are enquiring about cutoffs last year. just go 3-4 pages bak n u'll find this question answered. 125-130 was not at all the cutoff. As per my experience, Coaching institutes tend to give inflated cutoffs, esp in case of speed based exams. My expected score was 105-110 as per different keys and i got a call. Moreover written exam has a high weightage while computing the final result and the fact that i converted the final call is a gud enuf proof that my marks were definately not a borderline case. So cutoff could have been around 100-105.

Yes the paper has negative marking of 1/4th.
last year waitlist was cleared till 16th for 22 general category seats. also since there was sharing of ranks in the waiting list, so effectively 40 ppl were called for 22 general seats (ie, 22 from merit list and 18 from waiting list).

as told earlier, mfc doesnt reveal marks or percentiles. so no one can predict cutoff for any category. but as u mite b knowing that SC has given a direction that cut-off for obc category cannot less than 90% of the cutoff for General category.
due to SC's ruling above only 6 students from obc category could be offered letters last year whereas the seats reserved for them were 13. So seats were left vacant n they were open. they were then offered to other categories in order of merit. so finally we have a total of 27 general category students in our batch as against allotted 22 seats. so basically whole of the general category waitlist got cleared last year.

for life at mfc, i along with my other batchmates started a thread called "Life @ MFC-DU". but after a few initial posts, this thread is inactive for quite some time due to certain reasons. but dont worry, this thread would again be activated in 1st week of december once we are done with our exams.

now to be v.frank, fms is way ahead of mfc. i dont know how different they are in terms of studies and course content but fms is 55 years old with a huge alum base while mfc is just 22 years old. fms is a huge brand and this reflects in their placements. c i am sure that in terms of studies when it comes to finance, i m sure we r no lesser than them. also this year a huge development has taken place at mfc. a new curriculum was approved for 2009-11 batch and onwards and now the course is very market oriented. so this helps us in becoming better finance professionals. so education wise, course wise, etc we are as gud as any other top b-skool (not just fms). but yes the bigger issue is that we are still developing r brand and it will take time for us to do so bcoz v dont have funds like pvt colleges (such as symbi colleges, imi, etc) and hence cannot go for huge brand promotion exercises like these colleges do. just like fms, we will also need time to build our brand.
but yes one last point about it. there may appear to be a huge gap b/w fms and mfc when u luk at these two colleges as an mba aspirant. but the gap is not as huge when it comes to corporates n placements. many corporates know our brand and yes they recognise n value the potential of students here. once they recruit us for summers or finals, v generally find them back nxt year as well.
about fees i m not aware. but since both of them run under the ambit of DU, the fees should not differ a lot. at mfc the fees is just rs.12K per annum apart from student body funding which is done after u have started with ur classes.

to be frank as an aspirant i would look @ rankings across board though i dont trust them a lot(**** better than iims hehe), also since i am largley inclined towards financial markets,i would want to know kind of placements oppurtunites it offers i have gone through the site but i would like to have a seniors view

Can you pls put some light on placement scenario of last two yrs(Before and during/after reccession) in MFC.
As you responding most of the queries here I think u can give us clear picture of the placements..I didn;t find these details in mfc.edu ...

MFC forms are nt out yet and just go back a few pages n u wll find all your answers.files have been attached regarding the paper pattern 2 jst a few pages back
