Current Students from Executive PGDM/PGPM from XLRI, IMT,S P Jain, IMI,MDI,GreatLakes - 11-08-2007, 01:19 AM

Hi
Student Managers from Current Batch of Excutive MBA/PGDM/PGPM from XLRI, S P jain , IMT, MDI, IMI

I'm currently pursuing PGDM-Executive from IMT-Ghaziabad. After I joined this program , I have observed that we guys/gals don't have a common forum at national level where we can share our thoughts/ experiences and learn from our collegues with similar academic grinding.

So, with this I'm launching this thread and would request each one of you from current batch i.e 2007-08 of Executive PGDM/PGPM from XLRI, IMT, S P Jain, MDI, IMI to join this thread. Our interaction will revolve around evrything right from Mess food to harcore management fundas, placements , postioning, reading materials etc etc..

Let's create a new league of Executive MBAs .......class apart from two years guys!!!!!!

thanks and let's have an Executive interaction

Hi Total Fun,

Excellent Idea! specially when species like ours is rarely found on PG. It can be a good platform. I am pursuing Executive Management programme (EMP) from MDI.

Though I am sharing this id with my Bro but still I will keep pouring in...

Thanks a lot Virgo !!!!

We need to work a lot to enhance our visibility as Ex MBAs or industry will take its own time to fully appreciate our value. We have lot of things diffrent from normal 2yrs guys and we need to share and think as to how we can capitalize on it...may be in long run we can think of creating an entire new plateform and host some prog where all PGDM-E guys can come and do some cracking event(say an indutry meet/seminar) to attract attention . Believe me EMBA will the future of MBA in India

Plz use ur networking and ty to bring as many guys u can to this tread..i'm doing my bit and hope to see results in few days.

Hi Guys,

Its nice to see this thread. I got a seat for Ex-PGDM from IMI but unable 2 join on 07-08 batch. But from next yr they need a work exp of 5 yrs i hope but as of now i have only 4 yrs. I am planning 2 join this yr. I hope ICFAI hyd has 1 yr EX-PGP program where they need only 3 yrs of work exp. Do you guys advice me 2 try that?? My profile is B.E 70% with 4 ys of work exp in Wipro. I am into coding and i want 2 come out of it. So i thought not to waste one more yr. I hope you guys can give some idea...

Thanx in advance..

Thanks a lot Karthika and rahul for posting query.

As this is a forum for all Ex -MBA students, it will be unethical to draw any comparison among the instt. The 5 yrs exp criteria as indicated by IMI must b due to AICTE regulation as AICTE is trying hard to make uniform admission criteria for all Ex MBAs and as on now that is min 5 yrs exp and then 12 months course..(this is what i have learnt while going ahead with this prog..u should always check up officially..may b it is available in AICTE website).I won't comment on instt but curently this kind of MBA is available from instt like MDI, IMT, SP jain, IMI, XLRI, Great lakes, ICFAI and ISB.

placement details - 01-09-2007, 10:30 AM

Hii,
guys I m in the placement cell of IMT PGDM (Ex).....I need to know following details about the placement in various B-schools:

1. timing of placement week (in case if not rolling)
2. when do the inst allow companies to come (in case if rolling)
3. whether exec are allowed to sit alongwith regular two yr students??
4. can the timing of placement week be linked with the date of completion of the course??

please provide me these details so that we can implement some changes in the placenment policies of IMT Exec in line with other B-schools.

regds,
nitin

Hi Guys,

Just a suggestion. If this thread is for the "current" 1-yr PGDM batchs, it might be better to rename it to something like "2007-08 batch of ...", since the batches change every year, and it'll confuse ppl.

Overall its a nice initiative. If the mess food is bad in one college, maybe you can parcel it from another college :-)))

Is there any thread for ex-1yr PGD's? I'm from last year's (2006-07) GMP batch of XLRI, and want to network with ex-PG's. I had started a thread for the GMP program - http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/other-...gram-xlri.html (1 year PGDGM program at XLRI - GMP)

Regards,
Chanaveer K
