ok guys,
this insti has nothing to do with CAT. one of my close friends has been waitlisted for admission at Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology(SCIT). is it a good institute to do a masters in software development? the deal here is tht those finalized for admission have to pay 94 grand by 22nd of march !! do give me some info reg. this.

SCIT isn't that great to be very frank. I have a couple of friends who are doing it there. I know their personality and ability. So I need to know the kind of profile your friend has, before I can give you any advice.

hey thanks mate,
academically speaking,my friend is above average.he has gr8 programming skills & has always wanted to do an MCA or an mtech.he gave the pune university MCA entrance exam as well. the thing is that he has been pretty gung-ho about this insti bcoz of the name...the 'symbiosis' factor makes him feel that this is gr8 insti ! he has been singing praises about the campus ever since he went there for the gd/pi some 3 weeks back.

Frankly if he is into "tech" then it doesnt make sense for him to go for this course as its basically into "mktg". I think the problem with these kind of courses is that you end up in the middle - neither technically good nor great at mktg. But this exactly is the USP of the insti. They say HLL isnt their dream job, HCL is !! Got the funda ?

yeah man,
he got waitlisted for the 2 yr course in software development which has the same old programming stuff. does that involve mktg? : the thing that he keeps stressing on is that the college is situated in this hinjawadi tech park or something in pune which has many of the IT biggies located over there.
well,he is still on the waiting list. the prob is that he didn't appear for the other exams like CAT(i appeared for tht...though i shouldn't have !),ATMA,etc....so,this was the first exam tht he appeared for & he got through!
