Yes, infact we have a bunch of engineers in the current batch of 50. One has even worked with ISRO! The average last year was 5.3 and the highest was 8.5 (got by a non-techie 23-year old!). Beside, from the next year, SEBI will be involved in the process of admission and governance of the institute.

The exam is not difficult at all (at least till last time); it has all the sections as a regular management entrance test but there is no sectional cut-off. No prior knowledge of Finance is required but most of the work needs to be done at the student's end. Some work-ex helps but is not mandatory. Assignments take most of your time.

There is an entrance test which happened on the 31st of March this year for our batch. Don't worry, there are several students in our batch who have enrolled in this course after completing their MBA (this is a super specialzation course). Placements are decent, but it really helps if you try at your end, along with seeking help from the institute. With the acquisition by SEBI, things are set to improve. You can also look for admission to NISM (SEBI's institute), but it is subject to the institute coming up. The guest faculty is excellent.

I guess if the placements are On-Demand, then its great!!!!
This is the first time I am hearing such an institute offering such a high-profile course...Good to know this atleast now...
Hope someone from the college provides more info regarding Admissions/Examination and Later Placements..!!!

Re: Queries for Indian Institute of Capital Markets (IICM) - 15-12-2007, 12:13 PM

was just going though the faculty on website
its astounding people from iim/ iit/ top executives from I banks / isb hyd all come for guest lectures. Highest placement is 8 lacs .
But the main thing is the course structure. Its totally on the domain in which i am interested...
will work damn hard to get into this place. Thanks god i have a chance in life again to realize my dream

also there are many CA s and btechs who wroked with isro in the batch...
this institute will go places " afterall knowledge is power supreme" and thats what they r imparting .
better than these commercial b schools who cant provide a proper job profile in a finance sector
