had my gd/pi at jbim y/day. had good gd.the topic was regarding internet surfing. good gd. hi pi was great. the interview lasted for 45 mts. they were impressed and said good meeting and talking to you. does this mean anything.my cet score is 98.48 [119].

hi ppl,

well gd-pi is going to be over in few days, so what will be the next process, also why is this option filling is going to be decisive factore? if i have got 112 arnd 97 percentile then there are some range of colleges i can aim for but according to our ranking i can not get jb. or sydnahm. so how option filling can help.? can anyone explain pls.
i know this is not the right thread but hope will get replys.

i had my gd pi today in 2 30 batch in welingkars..we were first given a form to fill about edu qualifications and then strengths and weaknesses and about india as to what should be done to make it a global power and most significant event in indian history in the last decade and why i chose this course and why did i think i cuold be a successful manager.

the gd then

topics were:can india afford to shift from agriculture to industry and services and 2nd was supply creates its own demand..out of the 7 members (3 of 10 were absent), i was the only one in favour of the 2nd topic..so we moved on with the 1st one..it was a pretty thanda discussion..

the pi was quick..2 old men..asked about my schooling and a little about family(i am an oms candidate) then moved on to my career goals and since my preferred specialisation is hr, asked about various terms and aspects of hr like training, performance appraisal etc..

i have no work ex..

First of all let me thank you all for posting your GD/PI experiences. I completed my GD/PI today and your contributions helped a lot.
My GD/PI session was held at Wellingkar College at 10:15am.
GD had the following two topics:

1. Risks involved in life and managing these risks to reduce its negetive effects and increasing the positive effects.
2. I cant seem to remember now..

Well since only 6 of the 14 candidates turned up the GD moved on smoothly. The 1st topic was selected by voting. Out of the six, 2 remaind as spectators. The GD lasted for 12 minutes during which we were intteruped twice by the GD panel (:neutral:I dont know what they are called). The rest of us were quite fierce as all had something to contribute. I was especially upset with one candidate, who repetedly kept beeting around the bush with his boring-monotonous talks. I did interrupt him twice..I think he got the point after that.......

Now for the PI. There were 3 sets of Interviewers..My panel consisted of an Old & a young professor. The old professor was pretty rigid and never smiled througout the interview...... (Guys I need your feedback on this one)The interview was an exhaustive 25min long....May be they took it that long because they didnt have any one after me!!!??:....It was more of a stress test. They asked me a lot about my family background, my future plans. My stint with Mahindra & what plans I had after an MBA. I was asked about the fulforms of MMRDA & MHADA. I initially told them that MMRDA stands for Mumbai Metropolitian Road Development Asso; I was quickly corrected my one of the panel members that the A stood for authority. I was also asked the diff between PVT LTD & Public LTD. Since I am an Auto Engg, I was asked the diff between SI &CI engines...THey would have probably thought it was a tough question.....hehe, lucky me. Allin all it was a decent performance. Hope I have done well.

ALL THE BEST TO THE GUYS WHO HAVEN'T YET GIVEN THEIR GD/PI.
Guys please let me know if any of you had an interview that long??

first of all, thanks to all u guys for sharing ur experiences ... has helped me a lot

on to my gd / pi

was on the 26th ... at somaiya ... 9:30 batch

gd topics were "traditional vs modern lifestlye" and "should govt get out of education ... only then can we ensure equality"

with 6 ppl, there was actually a tie and after a bit of discussion, we decided to go for the first one

gd was normal .. with only 6 ppl, every1 had enuf chance to speak ... talked abt stuff like a typical western family as against the joint family system in india ... how the biased traditions still existing at the rural areas coz of ignorance and low literacy levels ... talked abt the typical indian mentality of blowing things out of proportion as far as adopting a western lifestyle (gere shetty incident)... etc

pi was more of a stress interview ....
started with history of my name and who Kanishka was and what was his contribution to Indian history ... a bit abt my background ... some questions on marketing, branding and retailing ... then came the bit unconfortable part where one after the other questions were posed such as "what would you if u were external affairs mininster of the india ... here a case was presented and i was asked how i would proceed" .... next was "if you were the HRD minister what would you do to promote patriotism and if indians are truly patriotic ... then lastly they asked me sumthing abt my work ex and job profile ...

no questions abt the significant event / what india should do to become a superpower / hobbies / etc ... strange that none of this was the focus even for a single second and a lot of time was given to the whole "education and ext. affair bit" ... i guess you can consider those situations as case studies but it just felt strange .. anyway its over

i was very very happy with my gd ... pi was strictly ok ... once again .. thanks to every1 ... good luck to every1 whose gd / pi are still left

well pooja, u got 15 choices to fill in...so the first 5-6 options shud be almost the same for everyone, kinda....but then u gotta see which coll suits u...u prefer location, insti, placements, infra etc...and option form is decisive cuz if u get admission in any of the top 5 options u mentioned, u ll hv to tk a seat, cuz if u dont, u ll still nt be able to sit for later rounds when u ll hv the option of shiftin to a higher ranked coll in ur option form...and if u dont get a seat in any of the colls or u get a seat in a lower ranked coll, then u can again apply in the later round (round 4 i guess) when if there r vacancies in the higher ranked colls, u cud be shifted to such colleges...hope that answered ur query

well, be happy the interviewers were happy wid u!! u cud get higher end marks if ur gd/pi was really well...

You won't get any option form as such. It is online procedure. The prospectus gives the detail as:

Stage-VI: Submission of online option form for CAP Round I, II and III

In order to participate in the Centralized Admission Process (subject to fulfillment of the eligibility criterion of each round) consisting of First 3 Rounds of CAP, it is MANDATORY to fill up the Online Option Form for each CAP Round and CONFIRM the same at ARC.

All the candidates having valid application ID & appeared for CET, GD & PI and his/her name appeared in the final merit list are eligible to submit the option form for CAP Rounds.

�� Candidates will be able to fill in the Online option form through unique application ID login assigned to the candidates at any of the ARCs mentioned in Annexure-V. However the candidates can also fill the “CAP Rounds Online Option Form for Admission to MBA/MMS” through any computer connected to Internet, either from home or cyber café and take the printout of the Online submitted Option form for confirmation at the ARC.
