the gd topic was "whether edu. system needs reforms?"
the other1 was "power crisis in maharashtra"....thou i wanted the 2nd topic others chose the 1st....n it lead to a fish market.....
the pi was cool......

Hi,

Most of the companies do provide you with the employment certificate mentioning that u r still working wid that company. In case you do not get it, then you will hv to show your appointment letter as well as your latest salary slip, you can also carry your confirmation letter if you have it. But then, the decision of alloting the work-ex marks will rest upon the centre and the faculty over there.

@boozi..why do u want our perspective..ultimately whatever panel decides whohi sikander..i had attended lot of gdpi..in some i thot i did brilliantly but was not selected..panelists may smile b4u but after u leave will give whatever marks he thinks is right acc to him..
this is for the ppl who have fear in gd of not speaking..speak speak speak as others also keep on speaking crap..most of the ppl in gds speak crap...very few add quality pts..

See...many times we've heard in talks/discusssions...
Man...he was good but "THAT was missing..??:??:??:

Now its just that "THAT" u gotto show the PI Panel...which may vary person to person..
panel to panel...it might be ones attitude which a panel wud love or the other panel might get irritated of...

Now thats its over..jus hope for the best...nothing much can be done..
even i feel sometimes that i cud answer it this way rather than that n all...
but have confidence in urself...n let time be the best judge!!

i caught up with 2 ladies and was cursing my luck but as it started i had to chenge my attitude.they were so cooperative.

questions were:

how was ur experience in city pf pune.
which games u play.
what is the best thing u wud like to change in this world?
what do u like most in this globalised world?
what r ur future plans and where do u see urself after 5 years.
which field u wud choose for specialization and why...?
why do u think management is yr career.


all i learnt in this process is that dont overstress urself the level of competition is low what u shud do is put ur thoughts logically and be short.
the candidates were not dressed properly coming in jeans and t-shirt that shows how
casual ur approach is.we shud accomplish all which r in our hand.must put on tie ,shoes........they r very helpful in nature and if they r not u cant change them.u have a lot of time to speak in gd.if u r a little gud u wud get gud marks as there r very few who satisfy them.

SO ALL THE BEST TO REST OF THE CANDIDATES.
i m sure u wud benefit from my experience.
I was quiet satisfied with my performance and hope a gud career ahead.

Hi people...
finally i am through with my GD PI.... its such a relief!

I was at sydenham in the 2.30-3.15 batch...
The GD was pretty decent.... There were 12 people in my group
The two topics that we were supposed to select from were,
1. Placements cannot be the sole indicator of the quality of a management institute!
2. There are no stupid ideas! ??:

9 people voted for the first topics and the other 3, for the second!
So obviously the first topic was selected!
The discussion was pretty decent, but everybody was dying to speak so it did become a fish market in between and the moderator had to ring the bell a few times to quiet us down!
2 people didnt speak at all! The rest contributed pretty much!
Talked about the quality of education, the faculty, the values imbibed, et al!

Then we were taken to the office area for PI
I was the first in to be interviewed by Panel B

There were two interviewers A man(M) of about 60+ age and a lady(L) of around 35...

they asked me to tell them about myself
I : blah blah blah
L : Your sister has done her MBA from which institute?? So why arent you pursuing it from the same institute?
I : I did get a call from that institute! But so far I have done everything like my sister, same school, same college, same classes so i wanted to do it differently this time!
(They seemed pretty happy about the answer)
L : So what's your CET score?
I : 116 & 97.85 percentile!
L : Very good!
L : How was your GD?
I : It was good mam.. We had the topic blah blah blah
L : (quizzed me for some time about the GD Topic and my views on it!)
then M started asking
what do you think is the most significant event in the last 10 years
I : blah blah blah
M : Which do you think is the main problem that India is facing today!
I : Spoke about population and how we can turn it into an asset by imparting education blah blah blah
M : What is balance of payments
I : Answered
M : What is balance of trade (I didnt know)
M : What is a crossed cheque?
I : blah blah blah
M : So if i give u a crossed cheque right now, will you receive the payment immediately?
I : blah blah
Then the lady again jumped in with 4-5 of GK question which i didnt get! :(
L : You don't have GK as one of the sections in CET??
I : No Mam!
L : So GK isnt exactly your strength area??
I : No mam, but i am working on it!
L : So do you read newspapers?
I : Mam i'll be honest... I have only started reading them recently.. I didnt read papers religiously before!
That's it
The only bad thing was the GK thing which i didnt get :(

Hi Poorwa,

Though i m not a senior or an expert, i wud still say ur pi was excellent. ur answers sound convincing. Lack of GK does keep a bad impression but ur back up answer to dat was very convincing. U can easily make it to 14 marks at least. Hope u get more than that.

1) Should there be freedom for the artists?? (a controversy on fire)
2) Should there be private universities??

since v wer only 5 in nos. the time alloted to us was 15 min and ther wer 3 panelists and they asked us to choose one of the topic n v decided to speak on the second one

i came up around 4 - 5 times wid points mentioning both adv n disadv
Adv:
quality of the education wud be better, employment opportunities, superior n experinced faculty, international exposure and updated knowledge since in mumbai university the computer subject in commerce is still based on foxpro n c programming wherein today v use c++ n linux as a networking software.
Disadv:
Profit motive, imparting education wud b secondary, poor people cannot afford, poses a threat to Govt universities.

At the end they asked us whether private universities is good or bad??
to wch i answerd tht today india being a developing country where in majority of the population is still below the poverty line, govt universities are in a position to impart atleast minimum education to students wherin this wont b the case if it is private as the poor cannot afford it.

then came the PI, PI was good. 2 panelists: male n a female.

A) compulsary installation of cctv's n making the punishment so offensive that the impact remains in the minds of all the people so tht they giv a 2nd thgt bfore indulging into corruptional activities.
n then they asked to leave and so was my PI........
