Had my GD PI today at Wellingkars.
Batch 14, 10.15 onwards.
Reached the venue at 9.30 itself and was provided with the form to fill out.
The same form which has been uploaded by funky_iflex. So already had the answers ready.
Calmly filled out the form till 10. Around 10, a lady came in to check in the experience letters.
Came to know a very alarming fact then. It seems that if you have the word "Trainee" in your designation, then the DTE doesnt consider it as experience but internship.
My designation did include "Trainee" in my first job.
But thankfully I had completed more than an year in my second job. Hence no tension.
Was directed to Room No. 15 for a presentation on Wellingkar's. But some malfunction with their projector and we were spared from it. :satisfie:
Was called to the GD room. There were 14 chairs kept in room out of which 9 were present. 4 girls and 5 guys.
The topics were:
1. Is common sense or genuis necessary for business? (Chosen topic).
2. Should Hindi be used as a national language for national integration.
We voted and chose the 1st topic unanimously.
The GD started well. Not a fish market. My first point was definition of business such that it meant common sense is required and not just genuis. The person who seems to fit into every GD "Dhirubhai" came up. :satisfie:
I put in some good points I think. Gave examples of Sony's VHS tapes which were technically superior but not marketted well and hence didnt do well. Example of Google which did well since the founders had common sense not to sell it to Yahoo earlier despite needing funding. Gave example of Alexander Graham Bell who was not the first person to invent the telephone but had the common sense to patent and market it. Spoke about people from IITs who are undoubtedly geniuses but not all have become sucessful businessmen.
Meanwhile in between, the GD actually became a GD on "What India should do to become a business superpower?".
I just nodded along and put in the above points in between.
When 1 minute was left, the person asked us if we will summarise or continue. We summarised.
In the group 1 guy and 1 gal never spoke.
The came the interview. While waiting for my turn, came to know that the interview was actually a stress interview.

Me - Topper in college. Held a position on the college committee. Now working. Doing extremely well in current job................
P1 - Your academics are very good. Decent extracurriculars.
Me - Thanks you sir.

(My company is a well known one. 92% of its shares are currently held by another very well known International company).
Lots of questions from P1 about the company. Answered all.
P1 - Family Background?
Me - ......................
P1 - Define Success.
Me - ...........................
P1 - So by your definition you are already successful. Why dont you stay here?
Me - ......................................
P2 suddenly asks: What are your CET marks?
Me - 123. (No response)
P1 - Do you have gfs on whom you spend money and have fun?
Me - :neutral:
(P1 then started joking with P2)
P1 - Ok thank you. No more questions.
