i just have a query regarding FMS entrance..is self preparation works out..??(provided u do a gud amnt of hard work)whatz the book that v can refer for FMS.i am a new one to pagalguy.com?????thanx.

Buddy ...

FMS entrance is like any other MBA entrance exam ,the only difference being that it tests u on spped also having 175 questions ...but generally the levels of questions is not very high ..

Prepearing on ur own depends on u solely & various other factors such as ur current prep levels ...i wud suggest u to join an insti because FMS is the most competitive exam arnd with only arnd 400 odd calls ..

Pal,
I dont think you will afford to risk one year by writing only FMS, you will target CAT!!

Just prepare for CAT, get material for it from some seniors or join a coaching institute.

Just concentrate on CAT and after CAT, you will have ample time to target FMS, so you can solve mocks and do the needed prepartion.

hi buddy well good to see enthu for FMS so early. well i myself made it in the written but cud not covert it this year. well the paper has 175 questions, no sections and usually the questions can be found here and there. this year quant had questions on complex nos and coordinate geoemetry which are usually not there. self prep is what i did and succeded. help is required during the intw as i found out in the hardest way possible. and yes there is something called SOP for this , so better be prepared for that. hope i have answered the exam part.

Was going thru ur response when i came upon d fact dat u cleared d exam dis time...Any recalling as to how many ques did u attempt out of d 175 given.......U said no NO SECTIONS - does dat mean dat dere r no sectional cut offs???????

Also what is d exact syllabus for FMS in case of quant.....Any idea....Wud be awaiting ur response.

Buddi:angel:, can you plz tell me what r the differences in CAT and FMS:-? i mean a comparative brief analysis.I could't took FMS :huh:last year but appear in CAT and MAT.Trying this year for :snipersm:CAT,XAT and FMS.

sorry for replying so late as i started on my job at EVS. ok about the attempts i never counted but safely i can say 100+. well technically yes there are no sections and thus no sectional cut offs.

quant syllabus is like cat only. however this year we saw a lot of +2 maths in the paper which were of easy level if u are from science or engg background. DI questions came for first time and they were easy. LR questions were tough but my luck was such that one such tough caselet i had done before and knew its answers. EU had 5 RC passages but this time smaller ones compared to previous years.

the quant question has already been dealt with.....

Regarding sectionals...No FMS does nt have any secionals.
at least thy didnt have it till last yr....cant say anything abt this yr though

Guys,

Just to bring to the notice the fact that FMS exam had DI this yr for the first time ever. There were 10 very simple questions. prob u can expect DI this yr...Also pls focus on speed + accuracy..Ppl keep focusing on speed and accuracy goes unnoticed. Ppl with 90 attempts also made it thru entrance this yr...All the best too all of you...Post if there r any further queries.
