@naveen
any basis as to why the wait list will go higher this time... mine is WL 50 in mba-ft and just hoping it gets converted....

Great thread
I am wl-19 and am pretty sure that I will make it

But then I have some questions to ask-
Why r people unanimously rejecting MS?
Is it not that good?
My seniors told me that no hard-core Finance jobs come here
Its all about marketing here
So I am in a deep mess ( if u have some stats of people getting good finance jobs or good finance companies coming here then please quote)
Seniors help me out as I Have the other option of going to McKinsey Knowledge Centre, Gurgaon
I am just 20+ so time is on my hand

Just hoping that seniors reply to this

This time the toughness of FMS and cat was almost same. For eg. english was hard in both exam. This will make more common people selected in IIMs & FMS. As the type of people cleared both paper will be of having same strenth. In yr 2006 the FMS paper was of different type & standard so the people selcted in both exam are of having different strengths.

Guys..i beg to differ from all those who think that there will more peole this time with final converts from IIM and FMS.

In CAT 2006 bcoz of rubbish englsih VA section and keys, there is a huge number of people who could have otherwise got calls..ended up getting no calls..and these people have as expected phodofied FMS....so definately the number of people getting both IIMs adn FMS final converts will be very less this time...

hey all... even though my finals start in april, I'm still vella... just sat and compared the FT and MS lists... I don't know if anyone's done this already, but 9 people in MS-convert are also in FT-convert, so they'll be leaving for sure... in the waitlist, ten people till WL-27 (also till Wl-30) are also in the FT converted list... also two people who've already posted above are leaving the MS WL for FT, and there'll probably be a few more too... so that makes a minimum of 21 people leaving MS (till WL 30)..

so someone like ridsmba who was at a rank of 28+27=55 for 28 seats, now gets bumped up to 34... which means you need 6 people above you to drop out... seems like a fair chance to me... suggest you make an excel sheet or something and start tracking the lists...

Hope. It is the quintessential human delusion, simultaneously the source of your greatest strength, and your greatest weakness.

hey,
congrats 4 getting a wl-19 ( almost sure convert ) . u appear to be in distress about the exodus of both-converts to MBA . But temme, isn't it human nature to stick with the tried and tested ? So i guess what's bothering u is expected and not a cause for concern .
If u need more reassurance about the prospects of the course go thru the placement reports & batch profiles of the MBA(MS) batch .. i thnk that'll put a lotta ur doubts to rest .

And as fore "hard-core" Fin profiles not being offered here .. ur seniors got it all wrong . Neway , ask ne1 u know who has done a MBA and is wid a big foreign bank , and he/she will tell u what's the role of Mktg in banking .

So , explore .. don't listen to me , get fdbk from all who u thnk can help .
And then if u want to opt out of FMS and join a KPO .. Go ahead ! My best wishes ( no sarcasm intended ) .
