hi sean,
im from delhi and i had appeared for the gd\pi on 11 of this month.but fortunetly i just made it to the wait list.my gd was really good but i guess my pi wasnt that good enough to impress mr.srinivas govindarajan.
so wat do u think will i finally make it to praxis(i havent had a good sleep after the results were anounced to me....till date). i also have a cal from other B-school for which i need to take up admission before 2nd of april and my mail from praxis said i would be finally told abt my future with praxis by 4th april.
plz help me out of this ... i jus wanna join PRAXIS.
but wat if NO.....and i lose my final chance to take up admission in the other b-school...i would be left in a complete fix.

tough call man.......
see here is how it is... in direct admissions only 43 people thus far have been selected in the 1st round ... and a few like you are in waitlist... so they no where neat the cap of 120 students... but as u know they having a second round of admissions too where the number will surely increase from 43.. the faculty panel being really very selective which in a way is good... but what u could do is send an email to them informing them of the problem u are facing and ask them if they could kindly give u a reply before 2nd april and am sure they will be glad 2 oblidge as they are really very helpful and have given us full support out here.... they will surely take a few from the waitlist but you should send them an email as i said to make them aware of the problem ... the kolkata batch of selected students have to pay their admission fee by 28th march so by 29th march they will get an idea if any seats have opened up or not and they could inform you accordingly...

I have seen you to be the most active person on this thread...and would wish that you answer my query...
It goes this way...As Praxis college authority tells that they will give prefrence to the profile based students...Now i have low score in CAT...But am an engineer in elex and will complete 2 yrs of work ex by this june in Reliance. Do you think its worth for me to apply.

Can you also tell me few of the positive and negative things of Praxis as you have been to the campus also i suppose...

yes it is true that praxis is looking more at profile based admissions... i mean out of those selected thus far lets take an example - 1 is a national go karting champ, 1 is a junior national ranked tt player and so on - can give u several examples.... and you being an engineer too with work exp. holds a lot of weight, trust me... dont worry 2 much abt ur cat score as they want pple who are well rounded overall and not just those who have done extremely well in cat, which in a way is good....

regards the campus, it will be ready by the time we join in end july.... the reason y they are still constructing is cause in bengal land is very very fragmented and getting a block of land of size 10 acres or more takes time as they need to buy small small patches of 2 acres, 1 acres, etc. and club them all together. the campus is being designed by the same isb architect and so i dont think i need to comment on what the campus will be like in the end. plus, the failities being offered to us are state of the art with wi-fi enabled and all.

so i dont think u need to think twice before applying.... just go ahead with it as they having a second round... check the website for details and just make sure u have a great gd/pi session.... ur engineering background and work ex should be a major boost
