first of all thanks to all seniors for their wonderful help.
i never thought that i would get such a support from seniors.
well my slot was on 10th feb 8 am . and first name of the day was mine
for interview and was supposd to face panel A.
was told to wait in front of interview panel door as they were havin breakfast
luckily a senior co-ordinator was there and suddenly he asked me whether i
was gujju as he was one. we conversed for 10 minutes and it helpd me a lot to relax and ward off stress, then suddenly bell rang from inside the panel room, and senior gujju
signald me to go and shoot.
i went inside and first thing i saw on the table was bowl of chocolates(mixed varieties)
i thought that i have enterd in some weird sort of stress interview and thought they would offer me one and watch my reaction (as i heard happnd in some interviews somewhere)
so i got mentally prepard for it. it was a panel of three
g1: finance proff. of iit-r as said by senior gujju.
g2: from some industry
lady1: from industry
(would like to tell one thing , i was lucky enough not to look at bowl full of chocolates most of the times but thought i would be offered one soon
, which i think is a good sign of self control, dont know what thy were up to by placin it right in front of me)
g2: tell me the most important thing you like in yourself.
me: the most important thing...................................
g1: what is your college name
me: v.v.p. engg. college
lady: full form
me:gave it with confidance....(it is tough, had to mug it down
)
lady: is it a known college
me: yes mam, infact it is the most reputed college of saurashtra(region of gujarat)
g1: so in which branch u r doin btech
me: elect. and comm.
g1: how many drives in computers
me:
g1:i mean in computers you have many drives , how many
me: i dunno the exact number, but they are floppy drive, disk drive, hard
g1:(interruptin): give me their technical names
me: sorry sir, dont know
g1: explain the process between microprocessor, ram and hard drive when u enter data
me(finally......): explaind perfectly and he seemd to be convincd,
g2: so have you heard about henry ford.
me: he was ................
g2:what did he do exceptionally diffrnt from others
me: damn, i forgot bout assembly lines and dunno why six sigma slippd out of my toung,.
but later on correctd myself and said its not six sigma as it is from motorola but i dunno what he did.
g2: ok since you are from gujarat tell me about dhirubhai ambani
me: blah blah blah
g2:what he did exceptionally
me(since i saw guru the day before): he manipulated law for the benefits of the company.......................
lady: what is the diff. between team and group
me: gave a good reply but she smd not convincd
lady: difference between communication skills and conversation
me: blah blah blah
ok thank you , you may leave
(i was waitin for the chocolate till the end,.
)
then came the gd.
kudos to sachin(senior) who was our gd co-ordinator ,
he explaind us outside the gd panel as we had good 10 minuts before gd
he clearly told that do no fight as it wud lead to less marks since the panel is
peace lovin panel. so if a gd turns into fish market then those shoutin would get lowest marks. we wre 8 and all of us decided not to fight.
we were given two topics
1: labóur reforms
2: is management education necessary for success.
all those who told not to turn gd into fish market started shoutin on the top of their voice
but i was lucky enough to enter 4 times when there was peace and managd to give direction to group and then it again turnd into fish market.
BTW: met martyr over there (we were in same guest house) and luckily in same slot as well as same gd group. it was fun to meet a pg buddy over there.
