Hey Nachiket

There are a lot of eating joints/coffee shops in and around IITD you can go there if you want to eat or you can grab a quick bite at our DMS cafeteria. You can also come and wait in the main building, check mails etc ...

You would be given a room depending on when you are goin back and chances are that if you havent booked a room already you wont get an accomodation easily. So better apply for one if you are staying overnight. Usually for washa and change no rooms are provided.

Re: DMS, IIT Delhi 2007 GD/PI Preparation - 19-02-2007, 06:44 PM

Hi everyone,

Time for a brief review of our preparation strategies:

Dress Code: There's no hard and fast rule about suits/coats. You may wear one nevertheless (taking into account the weather conditions).

GD: Make sure that you do not make a fish market there, because as it has happened in previous years, many groups get disqualified because of the nuisance created by 1-2 people. The GD might be topic-based (been the same in last few years).

PI: Freshers should be thoroughly prepared with their acads, business knowledge, general awareness, projects and SOP.

Workex people should be prepared with their last few projects at their workplace, sometimes they get too specific regarding details there. So, be prepared. Acads could also be asked based on how you lead the interview. Other things are same as for freshers.

Accomodation: The confirmation of your accomodation requests would be sent to you by tomorrow. Make sure that you don't stay more than required, as their is a serious crunch of space in IIT (courtesy many events running in parallel).

GD/PI dates clashes: All requests received till now have been processed and updates sent to you. Any new requests now would be considered only till day after tomorrow. Please be ready to be flexible (as in time) for the new realloted day.

Rest, take a chill pill, be ur confident self, and rock the GD/PI.

ATB to everyone! For any queries, you can reach any of the people, the names (and numbers) of whom are their in your call letter.

Regards,

Rohit

Hi Santhosh

New Delhi Railway Station is better connected to IIT Delhi. You can get off there and take an auto to the college. it will take you 25-30 mins to reach in the afternoon by auto. From Nizamuddin it will take you about 40 minutes.

Usually GD/PI processes get over in about 2.5 hours-3 hours. but there have been cases when it has extended beyond 4 hours. So I would say you are cutting it too fine. however since you have already booked the flight there is not much choice.

It takes about 40-45 minutes to reach the airport by auto from the campus

Hi. Since you have already booked the flight, make it a point to communicate the same to your panel coordinator at the time of GD/PI. If required, we'd adjust your slot. But, it would be good for those who are yet to book to please keep some buffer time at hand.

ATB!

Rohit

Re: DMS, IIT Delhi 2007 GD/PI Preparation - 21-02-2007, 05:29 PM

Hii,
My gd-pi has been rescheduled to 24th afternoon.
Now, I had booked a 6am flight to Delhi which has now been re-scheduled to 9am. Its reaching time is 10:50 am. Considering 1 hr to reach the IIT-D campus from the airport, Is it alright to go ahead with this schedule??
Cause even if the flight is around 1 hr late or any other delays, I still can reach campus by 1pm.

Seniors, Is it alright in your view, cause the flight cancellation charges are enormous in my case.....

Thanx in advance,
Nikhil.
