As far as I know, dropping years etc dont affect your admission provided you have a valid reason for the same. Which I guess you have out here. So prepare well for the GD/PIs and I guess it should be a smooth sailing for you

What is the GD like exactly at Ximb? From the topics here, i guess there r both abstract as well as general gd's. Are there case studies too? I'm better with case studies and abstract topics actually..so wanted to know..

And how is it conducted..i'v heard there are some institutes which ask everyone to appoint a chairman/leader etc..any set pattern at Ximb?

GDs at XIMB are a bit more structured than the ordinary GDs...there would not be more than 8 people in the group...you get one minute to prepare for the topic...7-8 minutes to discuss the issue...and 1-2 minutes to wind it up...

there is no appointment of a leader or chairperson... until last year case studies were not given...and i hope that they would follow the same pattern this year as well...

candidates would be evaluated on the following parameters:

1. Leadership qualities
2. Communication skills
3. Ability of comprehensions
4. Positive attitude
5. Ability to work in a team
6. Logical thinking

repetition of points is not accepted..so just speak to the point and dont beat around the bush...

oh!! its a long story.lets say that i had guessed pretty early on in the interview that it was a stress interview.so, i adopted an aggressive approach and "gave it back to them". i also substantiated each and everything i said with relevant examples,examples on topics i was comfortable with, thus ensuring that the interview took the route that i wanted. the gd was okayish, i think i was able to give a good account of myself in it.

hope that answers ur query to some extent.
