hey i have a serious doubt.... I was told that the essay written in xat would be considered only by xlri... but in the thread of previous yr's gd/pi experiences it was mentioned that the panelists read ru essay and question u on it.. can u please tell me what the procedure is like this year..

lemme tell u how the essay came into the picture during my interview. one of the panelist underlined a sentence from the essay and asked me to read it aloud. then they started grilling me on that particular sentence, what it meant, wat it spoke of me as a person, etc etc. To be more specific, they outrightly told me that i wasnt fit enough to be a manager (based upon the conclusion they drew of me given that i had written the sentence) and that i should concentrate on research work and go for a Ph.D

XAT score gud in all sectionals n hav been topper throughout my academic career. Will gud acads n gud XAT score b of sum help durin GD/PIs

To answer ur question, well, i wud say yes and no. Yes, it will create a good impression, and no, it will not be ur entry pass to XIMB. Similarly, ppl wit not so good acads needn't feel that they have no chance. Its all about justifying ur grades and sectionals in case they r not on the higher side.

I had a doubt about the weightage given to orissa domiciles...i know that noone has a specific idea as to what that weightage is..
whats the ratio of orissa/ non-orissa ppl?
is it really hard for ppl from outside orissa to get in..

hi......i got a call from XIMB...93.52%ile..overall scores distributed......i have 10 mnths work ex...but dint show then.....i have a problem..i dropped one year due to my ligament problem....anothr problem as i got thru as an airhostess i turned non-collegiate candidate...but cudnt join that airlines because of medicals....i got 72 in 10th...78 in 12th & 62 in graduation......excellent communication skills....i know i will do good in gd-pi.......please suggest me how to crack it...coz i want it neways....

Your final selection generally depends on the following parameters
1: XAT score
2: Educational background
3: Work-ex (if any)
and 4: Performance in the GD/PI
Guess its the same for most of the BSchools.
So you can compensate for shortcomings in other sections by performing well in the GD/PI. But rest assured, having a great XAT score doesnt really guarantee admission at XIMB

Well if you know you'll do well in GD/PI, then why are you getting nervous about it ? Just take it easy and perform as if its just another GD/PI
