Hi.... "glim" i dont really think any of us here know who you are and whether you are associated with GLIM....and by the tone of your posts, u sound like one associated with the institute....neverthless, unless we have any confirmation about that, we'd very much appreciate if you could please change ur nick to something else other than "glim" as it immediately tends to convey an official look (which we are not sure if you really are).....hope you understand our concern.....

Cheers

ps: i'm sending u some points to cover the nick change...and i'd also appreciate if you dont use CAPS while posting....

does anyone know anything about the faculty? the website has nothing and besides the big names on their advisory council, no clue about the faculty. and on the facilities issue, heard they'll be moving to the new campus within the year. no confirmation on that though. if anything new comes up, put it up here plz.

GLIM could be for students aiming for top ten Indian colleges who are looking for a fast-track course in one year. Even these students would join only after the placement results of first batch.

Another noteworthy thing is that the GLIM doors are closed for freshers - they strictly enforce one year experience.

As for me, the only reason compelling me about GLIM is that it is so near to my house ..... Just Kidding

I am from Chennai. I think it is #@#! . I wouldn't join this institute over "TAPMI" and I am not joining TAPMI lol. Keep this thread alive. I am really curious as to what kind of dudes join this half baked program.

i have been hearing a lot of positive news about glim for the past few days. i'm not going to join but i just thought i wud share the info to ppl who plan to apply there.
1. Current batch strength is 127.
2. around 50-60 guys have already been placed.
3. work-ex people are getting good jobs.
4. dont know the placement scene for freshers.
5. course is extremely extremely hectic. work 7 days a week. no holidays at all.
6. new campus is going to be built but wont be ready even during graduation time of the second batch (thats us)
7. faculty is amazing
8. and lastly, the students look at Prof.Bala as god. he is making things happen and the students certainly feel that its been a great experience.
hope that helped.

initially i was sure that i would be joining GLIM...but thoughts changed when i had a feeling that i have converted scmhrd.. its hard to beleive that there are no more waitlists in that college.

now i have scmld (pillai's inst) in hand and all of a sudden GLIM has popped up again in front of me and put me at sixes and sevens... whenever i was in chennai i wanted to visit the campus but never got a chance to...

will be going there this weekend for a personal interaction with ppl out there..

but GLIM means business and hard work 365 days.. their course i believe starts off on april 21st 2005 and ends on april 2006. i downloaded a profile of the current students from teh recruitement page of the website www.glakes.org and was shocked to see that the highest workex was 20years and tht chap was 43yrs old. there were a lot of ppl btween 26 and 29 and yes a handful of freshers too.

barring infrastructure, everything else seems to be good out here....

hope we get more inputs from chennai lads...

Hi ppl,

I have applied to GLIM and have my GET, GD and PI n 12th of March...means this saturday. Though I have never been to Chennai and have nt visited the institute personally but still I feel tht the institute is good (may be not infrasrtucture wise but course wise). The most imp thing is it has a one year fast track course, which is nt very popular between Indian B-Schools, and the course fees as compared to other colleges, offering one year programme, is very low.

I have already got selected for S.P.Jain, Dubai. It also has one year course but the fees is approx 12 lacs. I think everybody knows abt ISB....it has one year course and the fees is 15 lacs. So I think we shud nt forget this aspect of GLIM.

Above all the course is really good. I m in touch with a current student and come to know a lot abt the college. I think ppl its worth applying to GLIM.

well if u have say 4 yrs workex and pay 4.5 lacs to join an institute and in the end of one year get a placement of 5-7 lacs...[their lowest is 4 and i assume that those are more likely to be freshers] is it worth it?

i assume its a call each person has to make...

Shit happens .... c'est la vie!

Not happy with the way things are in india??...come and voice ur opinion here
