This case is going in supremecourt and the final verdict is expected today. If nothing is changed in the verdict i.e calling off of quota system does not happen, they should not have any task and will come up with the results soon. If supreme court sprangs a surprise, then it might take some more time. | | | | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to me@trance For This Useful Post:

Afaik, IIFT didn't plan to hike the no.of seats even when all other govt inst. were asked to do so.........
becz it very recently came up with a new branch and all.........so most probably it is waiting for supreme court's
decision and HRD's decision aswell(incase SC says yes to reservions nad HRD says yes, then it will take time, if
either of tehm say 'no'.......then tehy shoudl be out soon)

I dont think they will wait if they say yes because they would have already called OBC ppl and conducted interviews. If they had not conducted interviews earlier, they obviously cannot call now and have it separately.
So, they would have prepared the list already and just waiting for the final confirmation that quota exists. No increase in numbers or other things will happen this year.

Assumin that the SC decides to go ahead and approve the bill ..... then 27.5 % of the seats will be reserved .... we all know that IIFT has 120 seats, has the infrastruture to support 120 ppl and will not increase the number of seats to 153 ( 27.5% which is 33 seats for OBC ).....this implies that 33 general seats would used for this....... hmmm that makes the chances for other ppl bleak..... not that i want to start another speculation .... moi just just pondering about this...so thought i will type it out!.....
hope all this waiting, speculation etc ends asap and the results come out!......( hope the SC makes a decision today)
cheers.. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Miles to go before i sleep... | | | | | The Following 2 Users Say NO Thank You to pradeepponnadi For This Un-useful Post: | | | The Following User Says Thank You to pradeepponnadi For This Useful Post:

As far as i remember, i did not see a provision to enter one's caste as OBC anywhere in the IIFT form. Even in the CV form, it says Indicate the category viz SC/ST/General/PH - Then, if the 27.5% of reservation is to be implemented for OBC'S, how are they going to go about identifying who's OBC and who's not?
