Is there a chance of a second list this time ..... wanted to be inside that campus ( visited there in my engg. college days )...... but perhaps luck is not by my side ...... first my DD for PM-IR and post gets screwed up and then I do not get a call from an institute I dreamt to be in ....12 of my friends have got calls from XLRI with lower percentiles , 7 of them with lower percentiles in each section ....... I just don't have a clue ..... perhaps they didn't like my name ....

You got through those gates ...so perhaps you will not feel how it feels to be me at this very juncture of time when I sit in solitude experiencing the realty shock !!!!!!!

I couldnt understand the XL's logic of giving calls. People with 97+ have got the call even with the lower sectionals.

And still XLRI does not give me a call --------- this is life Dude ....... I also know people with 97% odd getting calls from XLRI ..... we can only bang our heads on the wall .....

I can feel the anxiousness..people please hold your horses..
Especially those who have got calls, call letters are on the way..so you will come to know in no time..Its a big thing to get shortlisted in the 1st place..

THose who were unlucky for some reasons, call up XL office...they are very helpful in this regard, or maybe wait for the offer letters which will give a more clear picture...

dude i know you would be feeling bad after that wonderful performance. i am sure you will get answers when you call up the XL office. the incharge of the admission process should be back in campus tomm afternoon. then you will have a clear idea of the cutoffs. do call them up and check. i still feel you have a strong chance.

I guess the above statements were my true emotions - i dont ever take decisions in anger/frustration dude. The statements did not express any anger or frustration as such - its just that I refuse to believe the results XLRI has sent me THIS time. Last two years I have landed up with 70.XX percentile and 80.XX percentile in XAT - true to say I have neva got nethin from this exam - I have a 94.56 in CAT this time and a 91.25 score this time in SNAP ( the top two institute calls ) - XAT was a hopelessly set paper - but i had managed some decent attempts - and considerably sure of my accuracy. Though the score they have given me probably depicts my PERCENTAGE score - and not PERCENTILE score. According to their score card I have probably landed up with negative scores in the sections. I am not so bothered about my not being selected in XL, but the institute has also heavilly spoilt my chances at the other institutes i applied thru the exam.

I dont have nethin else to say - except that XLRI maybe a great institute in terms of profile, history, alumna, placements, nature of academics etc etc - but there is certainly somethin wrong in their evaluation procedure. I will probably mail the institute about my result, but am not expecting any sane reply from them - no institute would do it - i know.

As for ur case - best of luck for CAT'07. I am a third timer at these entrances - and i dont think I can waste another year of my life/career preparing for such worthless exams.

I just want some people to know that NONE of us are competent authorities to comment on the evaluation methodologies of institutes like IIMs or XLRI. Please watch it before you use phrases like "shitty exam", in a fit of anger !

If someone got a 70 or 80 percentile earlier is NO reason why he / she cant get 28.xx percentile this year. And as for "accuracy".. how many of us even KNOW the correct answers for the entire XAT question paper ? Please don't go by the answer keys published by CL or IMS to judge your accuracy.

And furthermore.. if you are SO sure, please go through a proper channel, take up the matter with XLRI.. do WHATEVER you want, but please do not post messages like this on public forums.

Oh.. and as for the "goodbye" to XLRI... I'm sure they don't have time to wave back to anyone and they couldn't care lesser !

even i am not able to see any pattern....my scores are :...va-94.45 qa-95.14 lr-97.42 and 98.98 total....

My take:
Better you leave any hope from XAT coz u will not get calls from XIMB,XIME,LIBA,GIM all others are not so good.
i think you got shortlisted in SIMC or some Symbi insti better give ur best there.
