The -ve marking was constant, that is what one of my friends in IIFT told me.

Cut offs? phew lets hope its 50 - 55 coz thats what I am expecting. strangely no seals in the question paper and only one prototype. heard that in sum centres people started answering from 9:50 as there was no seals.

Where are all the thugs(IMS,CL..) with the analysis

best of luck for the DADDY(read CAT)

Dear friends,

Phew!.. what an exam.. time does run out fast!
started up with quants.. messed up in the LR/Di section..
got jacked in the english section.. and ultimately fared so-so in the GK section..

My attempts:

Quant: 41,
DI/LR: 27,
English: 36,
GK: 32.

wasn't satisfied with my performance.. let's see .. nothing more at this stage!

cya,

anupam.

hey everyone
i thot iift was a f*** all paper. No the paper was quite a good one,its just that i scrwd it.
Quant: 1 hr. Dunno how many i attempted but gt really silly.liek i multiplied the area of the sector by another pie.and felt very happy while marking none of teh above.
DIdnt attempt much
VA: Damn tough .It gt me real bad
LR/DI: cd attempt all reasoning ones but with little accuracy,,,thansk to the amt of time i spent,
I had 4 mins for GK,,,it was so easy but i still scrwed it.
I messed up 4-5 good answers stuff tht i knew.

I dont expect a call

Hi all,

I have attempted 155 in all. Didnt attempt to guess in the last even though the neg. marking is quite low.

here is my sec'nl break up,

Quant - 40 - 40 mins
LR - 35+ - 35 mins
Verbal - 47 - 30 mins
GK - 30+ - in rest of the time

Overall, Quant was easy and a good bet, you can spend most of your time there, as 1 question from carries more score than 3 qns from verbal/gk..
LR was okay, but there were so many types of questions and some of them were alien.
GK - was good, and one can easily eliminate options with reasonably good knowledge.
Verbal - horrible, with words from dont_know_which_book , but managed to eliminate and then try, cause, the -ve marking is low.
overall, i feel that, cutoff should be near to 60.

Goodday ,
Chandoo

Hello there guys,
I guess I m a little late, but anyways here's my tally of attempts
QA - 31 attempts
LR - 42 attempts
VA/RC and GK - 86 attempts

So, this 55+ cut off thing I presume is out of 100 marks, rite ???

Cheers.........Jairam

Re: IIFT 2004 - Likely Cut offs ??? - 12-01-2004, 10:39 AM

hello ppl...just seeing the no of attempts everyone has made and keeping in mind the difficulty level of the paper, i guess the cut-off shud be around 55-60..but thats just what i feel.....
anyways ...started of with the verbal section...must confess this was the best verbal section of all the xams i've given this yr.....with FMS nxt week i think im headed for another tough fight with the verbal section...ended u attempting 35 in this section..
moved on to the DI/reasoning section after tis...attempted 32 in this one..dint feel like attemting more..so went over to the GK section for a breather....just loved this section...attempted 40..knew quite a few and guessed the rest.
finally the qunat section...was easy has everyone has mentioned...got a bit stuck up wiht the co-ordinate geometry questions...ended up attempting 30..
that makes it...137 attempts...results wud be out in a few weeks i guess as the prospespetus has mentioned that GD/PI"s wud start In feb....so lets hope for the best..

cheers

I think CF Loogic peeps were insane when they said, a score or 28-33 can fetch you a call from IIFT. That is too low and one can get that much in quant it self ( if one is really careful while doing questions )
Waiting for TIME/IMS/CL analyses...

Current boss is Nusli Wadia.

There was only 1 passage in RC.

0.08 -ve for GK/Angrezi?

Yippee-I attempted 40/49 respectively

Quote CF:

"A net projected score of 58 on 196 or in the range of 29-33 on a scale of 100 would ensure a call from IIFT, Delhi with an optimum number of attempts in the 120-130 range."

Looks like IIFT will send out 5000 calls for 120 seats
